Sitting in line at Old Orchard right now. I'm number two.

Start making monkey sounds and see if you move up to number one!

For those of you looking for wi-fi units (not 3g) if you haven't done so already take a look at the Target sticky thread. It has info on how to check local stores online and then how to confirm inventory when you're in a store. I've seen availablity of some 32 & 64 wifi units in some of the northern suburban stores I've checked, but I'm looking for a larger 3g model.

Good luck with the lines. I was considering it but my online order just progressed a little. It is still iffy as to whether it will get here before I leave on a long trip in a week but it is no longer cancelable so I'm less interested in finding another unit locally.

If your luck is anything like mine, it will ship as soon as you leave on your long trip so it's a hassle to get it.

Old Orchard Update: 9 people in line.
Stock: black wi-fi 16gb and 32gb only

Pulaski target has 2 64gb wifi and one 32gb wifi. I tried to pick up an extra one just in case someone here wants one at cost but my stupid b&h order froze my credit card.

Good luck!

Willowbrook target had 5, probably all 32gb wifi........i got mine...thanks to the stock search tool...good luck to the rest of y'all.

I referenced the Target inventory system and went to the Vernon Hills store looking for a white 64gb wifi. They swore they didn't have it even though the inventory system said 1. I called Wheeling, they had 1 and I raced to get there only to have a person walk out with it as I was walking in. Boo!

Wow! I'm still blown away that almost 1 week after its release, iPad 2 demand is still this friggin high😱

This is not a $50 Tickle Me Elmo, but a $500 device that you would think would make it hard for this many people to buy, esp non-techie got to have it people.

Anyhow, good luck to all of you waiting in line this morning. At least the weather this week is awesome🙂

Anyone willing to pick me up a 32gb Wi-Fi model in black?

At this rate, I'll have to stop by the Michigan Ave store on Saturday morning hoping they'll have something in stock.

Might be a shot in the dark, but does anyone have a black 64gb wifi that they want to trade for a 32gb wifi black? Obviously I'll pay the difference. Getting tired of trying to find one in the stores.

I was at Orland Park last night about my backlight bleed, of course they didn't have any, even for a replacement, also they were out of the blue smart cover and only had one red left.

At this point, it's hard to tell HOW high demand is when there is almost no supply.

Tony

Given that analysts and what not estimated that anywhere from 1/2 million to 1 million iPads were sold this past weekend,
its safe to say that demand is at least that high, if not more.

On top of that, you have the predicted upcoming shortages of electronic components due to the Japan situation,
I would not be the least bit surprised if demand stays high due to people thinking
that they should pick one up now before supply gets constrained even more.

Anyhow, my 2 cents. Don't mean to hijack the thread. At least the weather is good in Chicago this week - Sorry, just have to keep saying that🙂

evanston BB

Just called the Evanston Best Buy, where I have a reservation, just to see if they've gotten any in since Friday - they haven't. That Target search thing does say that the Harlem/Irving Park target has 32GB wifi available... Too bad I'm looking for 16GB.

I'm also on the list @ BB in Evanston and I called today for them to say 2-3 weeks. Sucks!

Just FYI

Picked up a 64GB White wifi at the Target in Highland, IN today.

Looks like target is getting a few here and there and with the pretty up to date stock checker, seems to have a pretty good chance at grabbing one.

I did call and the girl told me they have not had any since launch. I kindly asked her to physically check and what do you know.

Cool! My cousin was looking for an iPad this morning and I told him to go to the highland, IN store and he got a 16gb black iPad wifi+3G.

Here's an interesting one... Saw this on Craigslist -

Looking for a brand new 32 gb or 64 gb white iPad with at&t. Will spend up to $750 for 32gb and $850 for 64g.
Must be in Chicago near Lincoln park area.
Thanks!

Are Chicago sales taxes something like 9%?? Does this person want less than you and I would pay at the retail stores?!

It's like the whole reseller thing but a little backwards!

Remember, this is 'Craigslist' we're talking about- you will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. I saw someone claiming they were selling a used iPad 1 a few weeks ago. Looked legit, emailed him, only to get a message that 'I sold my iPad, but you can get great deals on them at this site!'
