iPad 2: Chicagoland Apple Store Availability Updates?

So Chicagolanders...I was checking on a TV preorder I'd done via Abt and thought what the heck - let me see what they say about their iPad 2 stock.
There on the website, plain as day, is the white wifi 64GB iPad 2. The only model indicated as not being on 30+ day back order. In store pick up only. So rush over there now those of you interested.

thanks for a generous offer for the ticket to get the Verizon iPad from apple store. white wifi only 64 GB is the iPad2iWant.

just called the ABT store. they do not have any in stock and for any stock they will receive they have orders already (about 40 for black wifi 64 GB and about 50 orders for white wifi 64GB)

I was curious if you had found one and sorry to hear that you are still searching. I am still looking for a black 32gb wifi for my friend and that seems to be even more elusive that the white for some reason. I hope you find exactly what your wife wants. Sounds like you are a very nice husband. My husband thought I was crazy in my iPad pursuit. Lol
I've had absolutely no luck finding any white WIFI only iPads (32GB or 64GB). Twice I found Limited Availability at Targets, but both times it turned out to be incorrect (or the employees were lying to me).
It's very frustrating, especially when you work early morning at 8am and have no shot at lining up for Apple Store or Target openings. Hopefully my Best Buy reservation comes through soon, but I have a feeling the Kimball/Belmont location hasn't been getting much love from Apple.

Drove by the Apple store on Michigan Ave. around 3:30pm. Very busy on the lower level. I doubt any iPad 2s to be had.
Not true. I walked in around 3:15pm this afternoon and although they were packed, they had a very short line (five people at most and at times no one in line) and heard staff tell customers they had 32gb models. If you walked into the store this afternoon and wanted one you could have just picked one up and left. Many people (myself included) were just playing with the floor models.

I got a 32 white wifi ipad 2 at Orland square today. stood in line since 4am was about 8 people there already. doors opened at 730am. the line was pretty long everybody seamed to arrive at about 530 am mostly those people did not get any units at all. they had no att models but they did have about 20-25 maybe even 30 units of Verizon 32,64 gb and wifi models black and white 32,64 gb. the lines at Orland square dont seam to be as bad as other stores.
i recommend calling the night ahead to ask if they expect a shipment then get out to line around 4 am at the latest for your best chances at getting a unit

Lol, I read too quickly and now see you obviously meant wifi! Multitasking is not my strong suit. 🙂 Good luck with the search, I hope you find one soon!
In regards to the previous post about Apple Store on Michigan Ave possibly 'lying' about not having stock out, I think you may not have heard the whole conversation.
I stopped off at the store this evening, mainly to see if they would open tomorrow with new stock. Noone could confirm or deny that, but the persons I spoke to did say they had some 32gb Verizon iPads left. This was at 805pm tonight.
I was in the line this morning. Arrived around 6am and was about #53 in line. The lineup for this morning was:
32,64gb Wifi, White
16,32,64 Wifi/3G, Verizon
I got all the way around the corner and within sight of the door when they had run out of the White Wifi-only units.
At this rate, it seems arriving at the store at 6am in the morning is suicide. I'm going to find some way to get there around 2-3am instead in the future.

I actually stopped by the Apple store at Woodfield Mall at 9am. No line.
The employee stated that they have no ipad2s in stock, and further stated that there would be none tomorrow as well (surprised he knew this). Just a heads up to folks...

yep, none at Michigan ave this morning ... have they ran out due to no more parts from japan?
I'd assume that they don't have any for sale on Mondays because the previous day is a Sunday when shipments don't arrive?
some bestbuy stores have iPad2 in today. But so far those are just for pre-orders. Buck town seems have a lot.
as of 10:00 AM there are at least white 16/32 gb available at Target South Loop.. probably at least 2 units of each . Not sure about black or 3g, etc

Try Willowbrook Target. Just came back from picking mine up. 16 & 32G wifi, 64G At&t are all there right now. All in white.
I snagged the white 32GB at Target South Loop 😀 (I love that I work so close by.) Some woman came in right after I did to grab the 16GB, so I doubt there are any left.
