iPad 2: Chicagoland Apple Store Availability Updates?

Cool! My cousin was looking for an iPad this morning and I told him to go to the highland, IN store and he got a 16gb black iPad wifi+3G.

How funny. When I called this morning, the girl said she had the 64GB and a 16GB 3G black. When I called back later to see if they were still there (could not make it right away) she said someone was there buying the black one but the white was still available.

Got mine today at Target in Highland Park at 8:05. They had 2 AT&T 16GB in black. I was 2nd. Thought I wanted white but black is fine.

I have one on order from AT&T-white 16GB. Wondering if I should cancel or keep then sell it. Thoughts?

Depends on where you sell it. CL is saturated and I'm not sure if people are willing anymore to pay more than maybe $50 on top of tax anymore (this was different on launch day). OTOH, If you can get a legit buyer on ebay you can make a nice amount.

I meant from stores, i.e. apple stores and targets. I have seen a lot of 32 gb black wifi but no whites..

iPad 2s are out there indeed!! White, AT&T, & 16-64gb my friends... KEEP searchin & try some of the MORE familiar but NOT obvious places/locations.. Like I just picked up 64 ATT white at Oak Lawn target.. Good ole SouthSide.. Of course, not tooooo many people out that way are buying ipads.. U cant get it with Link...lol j/k.. Also store on 87th & Cottage Grove, Chicago had some as well today.. They are selling but nowhere near as fast... U dont have to worry about early campers...well not until now..lol

Seriously though, I signed up just to say thanks for the LINKS as I was able to track it down that way and it was pretty accurate. They said they will be getting more tomorrow & throughout the weekend and have been ALL week so I advise you all to stick with it my friends... Oh and stay clear from Verizon stores and their ordering process....WACK!! I went back to the store with my ATT iPad in hand & cancelled my order..lol The rep was there & he was all like, "WHAT?@! Where did u find one?" I said, "from the muthafriggin Southside fool!...Now cancel that ***** b*tch!!!" lol


Now off to restore my original's apps to this new puppy...😀😎

I'm seriously considering trying the early line thing at Old Orchard on Saturday if I don't see any 16GB wifis at Targets before then. Just curious how long I'd be waiting before they at least let us know which models they've got & how many.

Just left the Deer Park Apple Store. They still have tickets left for 16gb Verizon models. Went looking for a white 64gb wifi, got a ticket for a white 64gb Verizon. Seems like they just come and hand out tickets as people arrive. I got there about 7:05am. Just happy that the hunt was successful! Good luck everyone!

Just left the Deer Park Apple Store. They still have tickets left for 16gb Verizon models. Went looking for a white 64gb wifi, got a ticket for a white 64gb Verizon. Seems like they just come and hand out tickets as people arrive. I got there about 7:05am. Just happy that the hunt was successful! Good luck everyone!

Ended up running to Target while I waited to go back to the Apple Store at 9am and got the only one they had (white 64gb wifi) which is exactly what I wanted! 🙂 Had to be persistent that their inventory showed 1 and once the regular electronics person came out, he was very helpful. Also opened a Target card and saved 15% on the iPad, AppleCare and a neoprene sleeve. Total was only $734 including tax.

Felt like I should keep the good karma going and went back to the Apple Store in Deer Park to buy a smart cover and asked if anyone wanted my ticket for the white 64gb Verizon. All the people there already had tickets, so I gave it back to the individual who gave it to me this morning. In this situation, I just didn't feel right selling it. Too many people out there that actually wanted it for themselves. Ended up a great morning!

Yesterday, I called a few Walmart/Target stores around the Hoffman Estate area, and all indicated they were sold out.

Based on a previous thread, I check Walmarts inventory and it indicated that supplies were limited. I called them up and got a response that the ipad2 has been sold out for days. Also, they have no clue when they will be getting more.

I've been trying to call the Apple store in Woodfield mall. It just keeps on ringing and ringing. I guess they are tired of the same old question 🙄

I'm just looking for the 16GB wifi, black...I hope to locate one soon.....

michigan & lincoln store sold out by 10:20am. i think they had 40 or so verizon models

wondering if due to some parts from japan, they stock will actually run out completely in few weeks

Ha....I was debating this morning before I left the house whether I should go to the Golf Mill or Arlington Heights store. Glad I chose Golf Mill so that we both got one😉

Just want to encourage people in the area to keep trying the Targets. You will get one eventually, as they keep having inventory trickling into the stores. Good luck!

Small world! I almost sent my mother to Golf Mill as a backup, but once I got a ticket the 64gb Verizon at the Deer Park Apple Store, I figured I would be a good daughter and let her sleep. Hope you enjoy yours!

I agree about Target. You may have to insist that they check their stockroom, but orders are coming in and their inventory system is pretty good.

I just stopped by Old Orchard so I could play with their demo models and decide how important getting a black one is to me (decision: don't care about color as much as I thought I did). (Another note: the quality of the still camera didn't bother me at all.)

When someone asked if I needed help, I asked if he knew whether they'd be getting any in tomorrow morning, and he didn't. He did say that if I'm calling around to Apple stores, if they say they're opening at 9 that's an indication that they are expecting a morning shipment. So I asked him if they're opening at 9 tomorrow, and he said not that he knows of as of now. So I might call back and check before they close, b/c if they're not getting a shipment in in the morning I won't be going for an early lineup. He also said that the fastest way to get one is probably to order one online - I assume they're being told to say this at this point to cut down on the constant phone calls and questions and such, because obviously with a 4-5 week wait time there are plenty of people who will find one in a store before it would get shipped online, it's just down to luck right now.

Edit: About a half hour after posting this, I remembered that I'd forgotten my phone when I was out, and checked for messages. And the Evanston Best Buy had left a voice mail that my iPad was in!! So much for the Apple Store guy who was - at almost the exact same time - trying to convince me that there was no way my BB order would come in in less than a month, so I might as well order online. Just picked it up, about to start setting it up. I've definitely got to get a decent case (not a smart cover) ASAP, I am already so paranoid that I'll drop it!
