The nice juicy ribbon cable attached to the bezel...
So if this is an iPad 2 part then looking like we will have a touch sensitive bezel working with the screen...

As for release cycle... Some time in early April... IPad 1 sold alongside iPad 2. 1being the entry level lower priced model like iPhone 3GS is now..
:D

P.S. Could also be the screen antena..

Or did you not think that the ipad 2 will have 32G 64G and 128G? i mean it has been two years since they bumped the iphone and they will bump it this year most likely, and with that the touch and ipad will get bumps in their new gens too.

128G are still too expensive... If Apple would build an iPad with so much memory, they had also been involved so much storage in the iPod Touch 4G

i'm really curious to see if apple will do any ads tomorrow for the ipad 2 for the super bowl. obviously, millions will be watching, and they love the commercials, so i'm thinking maybe we'll see something tomorrow from them. who knows. honestly, i doubt it, but it'd be a very cool way to introduce it, or get some more hype going.

also, Best Buy currently has sales on the iPad 3G versions, at $30 off each one. so the 16 GB is $600, etc. and so on.

I wonder that the upper part of the bezel isn’t on the picture...

Front Camera? Speaker for calls?

We will see

Sales would not be affected because apple can start pre orders the day of the announcement like they usually do.

And I don't think that you can say when apple will and will not make the announcement. You are no more a reputable source than the ones from the article you claim are false.

That's a great point I hadn't even considered. Sales won't dry up in the US, they'll go through the roof with pre-orders.

LOL, this is by far the dumbest argument I've read in this thread. Sales don't equal pre-orders. April 1st is the start of Q2, having an announcement in February but a release in April is the most asinine thing I've ever read. Their Q1 report will be awful.

Also you don't need a reputable source to make intelligent claims that actually make sense. But what I will give you is the original digitimes article that states an April release:
http://www.digitimes.com/news/a20101206PD224.html

There's absolutely zero incentive for Apple to put out an announcement in February when people can still return their Valentines day iPad's in that time frame which again, Apple is pushing.

pre orders don't equal sales ? Guess they are just considered mythical sales then and they don't really count since they are sales before the products release.

I'm not saying that apple will or won't release info about the iPad but you can't consider yourself anymore reliable than the original source. Maybe in your own mind but your opinion can not be stated as fact, get over yourself.

Ok my bad... The 3G iPad.. It had the 3G antena on the front behind the screen...
I just thought that this particular ribbon is attached to the screen itself... At top.
The hole is also bigger.

They also weren't putting the PowerBooks up close and center page for their Christmas advertisements.
They advertised the original iPhone on TV and in print up to the week it got updated to the 3G.

That was also during a very major switch in the product line from PowerPC to Intel that hasn't happened since. Powerbook sales were also piss poor at the time.
Says you. And seeing as the iPad is a large portion of Apple's business going forward, I'd say a new iPad counts as a major switch.

But what you don't understand is that Apple doesn't have to announce anything a month in advance and it would be a horrible business decision to do so. If they plan on releasing something in April then why would they announce it a month in advance? There's nothing good that comes out of the sales for the first version and all they are doing is shooting themselves in the foot. They don't need to announce the iPad 2 to finish selling the first iPad, that would be the last thing they would want to do.
I never said they had to announce anything in advance. I think these things will be announced one day and available the next, or at the most, the week after.

Seriously though man, you need to settle down. This is a rumour site, you don't know anything more than we do and seem upset that some of the speculation isn't exactly in line with your view. If that is the case, this board will be a very frustrating experience for you.

Why? Because you heard it has widgets that you will never use? After watching the demos, I am not at all impressed with the honeycomb ui. Looks like a mess that needs a lot of work.

Considering I use Lockinfo on my iPad, I will most definitely use a handful of widgets. Widgets for everything? Nah. But having your emails and a couple other things on your homescreen for quick reviewing is nice. This isn't me talking down on Apple, as much as it me being very impressed by Honeycomb. I will still own, and enjoy the Apple products I have, and I am sure Apple will continue to add to iOS as it goes forward.

Buy and iPad2?

Best to wait until the release of the iBrain which will be a frontal lobe implant with satellite network link. Just saw a prototype on bigmacideas.ng/blog. they'll send you the specs if you send them your discover card number and pin. pretty cool deal.

intuos

I really would love an iPad but I have a hard time justifying the purchase. I guess I wish there was a way to make it act like an intuos device. If that were ever to come out I would definitely purchase the device in a heartbeat.

One More Thing...

Boobies.

iPad v2 comes with boobies.

That's what I heard anyway.

If they do nothing to boost pixel density...who cares about iPad 2. I'm so sick of apple's incremental redesign horse sh.i.t.
Live up to your self applied revolutionary thinking, and really blow us out of the water with the next gen.

March 10-11

End of February event, March event, which is it??? Apple insider has the same story and says it reports a March event with the iPad shipping later.

http://www.appleinsider.com/article...mall_event_in_march_to_usher_in_new_ipad.html

You guys wanna get things straight here?

A trusted Apple store employee has told me his entire store (one of the largest in the country) has to work on March 10th & 11th. Of course, they weren't told of the reason. My money is on March :)

This makes no sense. Why would Apple not release the next gen iPad specs prior to the launch of the Motorola Xoom? Apple risks losing customers by not announcing the specs prior to the Feb. 17 availability of the Xoom.

hmmm.

BS?
Just part of the chatter.. a middle of March workday at the store would imply they have to move actual product at that time. That would work with an announcement the 15th or soon after and a 30 day wait for product.
:)

Yeah, like how they lost customers to Galaxy Tab :). Seriously, Apple doesn't play specs game. Most people who want Android tablets will buy them regardless.
