My 1st Weekend Thoughts

Walked out at 5:05pm Friday from Walmart with a black 64gb AT&T version. Glad I got there 1 1/2hr early to wait, kudo's to the Friendswood Walmart for how they handled the release.
So far so good, only bummer is that AT&T is only giving the free month to people who want to post pay for service and not pre paid. Works nice, usually responsive on the internet, although their is some checker boarding at times, it's a shame they did not put in 1G, may have helped, other than that pretty snappy.
Biggest surprise is the video quality of the back camera, took video of my daughters volleyball game and came out clear and no pixelation in the picture with all the movement and indoors. Love it so far!

Wonderful, Beautiful, Absolutely Amazing!

Okay, still waiting on the Fed Ex truck but that's probably what I'll say when I rip open the box . . . okay, maybe after I back up my iPad then sync the iPad2.

Such a beautiful day today, will have to postpone my bike ride until Fed Ex gets here

I have my 16 gb wifi iPad 2 in! It is great, glad I didn't get white! I do love the cameras great for face time but Im not completely sold that it a MUST have upgrade! But if you don't have one no brainer choice! I still on my iPad 1 as I type! My family is to busy fondling the new toy! Just waiting on the 32 3G!

Q for folks here. Which size is ideal for you. 32GB or 64GB? With so much limitations on the way in which one can move and store into an iPad, what is ideal size. I'm torn between 32 and 64. My iPhone 4 is 32GB but then that's my music player as well, which this might not be. Have ordered both but not sure. From your past usage on iPad v1 or 2, what are the thoughts?

Couldn't wait for the release in The Netherlands.

Feels great in my hands! Much nicer than the first gen.

Overall, excellent speeds and fluidity!

Wanted a 16GB 3G, but ended up with a 32GB 3G. Leaving for a mini vacation tomorrow so I can deal ;)

Went to apple store at 8 a.m....they handed out tix at 8:30. I had a chance at 2, but didn't want to deny anyone.

First impressions....love it. The biggest sell for me was the hdmi out. I don't have cable. So I'll use some of the great video apps and definitely march madness on demand.

Downloaded the Spin magazine app....definitely the future of the print media.

Sweet machine...

I don't own one, but finally got to play with the iPad 2 at BB today. Impressions - sexy, fast, and a worthy upgrade.

The form factor is amazing. It's so thin compared to the original, and really makes it easier to hold with one hand. I don't think it's much lighter, but the weight distribution makes it feel like it is.

I played with a white one, while the woman next to me used the black. The white looks really great when it's powered off, or on the home screen. When using it though, I felt the OS and white frame clashed. With the black border, the OS seems much more fluid, and blends into the device, drawing the user in.

It's also considerably faster than the original. I was switching between apps, loading sites, playing games, and taking pictures, and the iPad 2 didn't even stumble. It was so much more consistent than my iPad.

I'm still not sure if I'm going to upgrade. I use my iPad all the time, but I think I'll wait for the next revision and retina. That being said, this is an awesome device, and the new version is definitely a great buy.

I enjoyed my first day with mine. The whole initial experience reminded me of my first hours with a Mac in the 80's: amazed, enthralled.

Surprised to see that it might have a use on my desk, next to three monitors.

Mildly disappointed that I can't yet get comfortable with it on the sofa and that the smart cover doesn't give me a solid base.

I have been using my iPad 2 since launch day. I also had iPad 1. I have so say that even though the screen resolution in iPad 2 is the same as the prvious iPad the screen seems brighter and the text rally easy to read. It is a very nice screen.

Sorry! ;)
I'm also one of the few in The Netherlands that already got one.
Last year with iPad 1 i did the same. Imported from the USA the moment it came out.

What's the deal with stocks in the US at the moment? I'm over in NYC from 2nd to the 7th April, any chance i'll be able to pick one up? Or will they be, for want of a better analogy, like rocking horse poo?

Im just sure if this is a worthy investment. Seems like a lot of money just for a media device.. I want to read more reviews from people that own the iphone 4 and a macbook pro... Is it really worth it ?

I have iphone 4, MacBook Air 13" "Ultimate", 11" MacBook Air base and an ipad 2. We are retired and tend to be out and around where there is wifi. So far I still tend to take the macbook air and leave the ipad 2 behind. However, I'm going to take the ipad with me more frequently over the next week or so and see how it works for me.

I managed to sneak out to my local Walmart and they had a 16GB and a 64GB, all I'm saying is I got lucky and I live in a small town with not very high demand.

Initial Impressions...

Got my first Ipad on Wed. Screen looks great so I guess I don't really miss the "rumored" higher resolution. Set-up was a cinch on my Mac Mini. My favorite thing about it so far is it's long battery life - I haven't had to charge it yet (at only 50%)! And it seems to stay very cool and is silent. The large screen makes games like Angry Birds 10x better than on my iPod touch! I also like the idea of Facetime altho most of my friends have the original iPad. The camera though is pretty worthless. I tried to take a few pics of objects in "good" lighting and they were very grainy...I would be shocked if it was a 2 MP camera.

For the first day, I was using it non-stop but I will already admit that most of the excitement was in the "anticipation" of getting it...I still use my blackberry a lot for email, checking facebook ETC. It's a very cool "toy" and I'm glad I got it but I don't think I will be using it as much as I thought I would. But that could be b/c I didn't opt for the 3G.

Here is mine and my wifes.. got them on Friday afternoon.. so far we both love our iPad 2s.. :)

Returned my iPad 2 - too many lock-ups

I returned my 64 GB White WIFI iPad 2. Syncing with my new MacBook Pro was horribly slow and it totally locked up my MBP 4 times 'til I couldn't stand it any longer and took it back to the Apple Store. Screen clarity on some of the programs was poor. It's not ready for prime time in my opinion. Maybe iPad 3...?

The good news is you new iPad2 will come near fully charged and ready to use. iTunes handles the change over very well.

The first thing that impresses is how thin the new iPad is. Just amazing. Next boost to me and the biggest is how well safari does on the Internet. VERY fast!
