Does anyone have a picture of thickness comparison of their iPhone 4 and iPad 2?

Here ya go!!

9am. showed up at Wolden Galleria, Buffalo, NY. by noon I walked out with white and black 16gb. With black leather cover :)

I only got my 1st gen in November, but seeing the performance upgrade of the 2nd gen, as well as how great it looks, I am very tempted. One of the most annoying things about the 1st gen is the RAM; its such a drawback on an otherwise great device, and it was basically the first thing I noticed. Compared to my iphone 4 the browsing experience is disappointing. I probably won't be upgrading to the iphone 5 in the summer, yet it seems like a waste to sell the 'pad now. How much do you think I could get for a 32GB 3G? I've always used it in a case, so its in perfect condition, no scratches or marks anywhere.

zasr4325, not sure what the rules are around here talking about prices but i sold the exact same 1st Gen iPad yesterday to get some cash for my upgrade and i got very good cash for it.

I would suggest you look on eBay and check the "completed listings" to give you a ball park price. eBay IMO is the best, i sold mine on Craigslist and there's so many trolls on there it's not fun, it's not funny.

???

LOL you basically bashed yourself by stating that you think owners of white iPads are screaming ""hey look at me i got a new Ipad its white so you know its the new one"".

How did I bash myself if I got a black one, I wasn't talking crap on anyone actually. Just stating my opinion on why I went with black over white

I didn't mean that you were bashing YOU- I mean you, yourself, were bashing in that statement by stating that you think owners of white iPads are screaming ""hey look at me i got a new Ipad its white so you know its the new one"" How is that not bashing?

So you took the plunge? Have you got the new one yet? If I was to upgrade, I think I'd pick a WiFi only one now, due to the new hotspot thing on iPhone 4. It would probably work out the same way cost-wise for me as before, as I was sharing a data plan between the iphone and 'pad. I'm not sure what to do though as I'll be in Uni this October, and I really wanted to upgrade to a MB Pro for that. Its overkill to upgrade both so I'll have to pick one. If they bring out redesigned Pros over the summer then that will definitely be my pick, but the 'Pad 2 is looking tempting.

White 64Gig Verizon 3G Model

Picked up the top Verizon model in white yesterday and am loving it!! So much better than my previous 32G 3G model. I've been running various apps on them side-by-side and the difference is very noticeable to me.

Also I went with the white just to have something a little different. Didn't necessarily want to "let everyone know it's the new one" like some people suggest (although I'm sure others did).

I know someone who got the iPad on Friday, and I saw them yesterday. They pointed to a bench and said it's over there. It had the smart cover on it and I completely did not see it (i thought it was one of the floders that was sitting next to it!) Its that thin???

I can't wait to get mine... but the tracking is not working (it shipped 36 hours ago...)

I don't believe there is anything in the FAQs or rules that states you cannot talk about pricing. :)

I don't think you can try to sell it on these forums

Correct, you may not. You have to post in the marketplace which requires a member to 1) have a minimum of 250 posts, and 2) must have been a member for at least 6 months. Click here for more details.

Yes I did. I went to Century City mall in L.A at 3pm Friday, got in line to buy a 32gb wifi and at 7:30 they said they had sold out so I had to buy a 64gb. I'm glad I did now. Many people did the same, after waiting that long I told myself there's no way I'm stopping now! I posted my unboxing video in this thread.

Using iPhone Wifi Hot Spot with new iPad

Has anyone who bought a new wifi only model tried using it with the new iPhone hotspot facility while the iPhone is connected to the internet with 3G? How does the iPad work with this set up? Seriously considering getting a Wifi only model rather than a 3G iPad if this works ok - I have only used my current iPad on 3G about 3 times...

Any advice?

This is exactly what I went with (64GB White Wifi w/ iPhone 4 Hotspot tethering - AT&T), have used it a couple times already and it works flawlessly, can download or run anything that requires Wifi because the iPad thinks it's on Wifi, I think it's actually better than the 3G version and cheaper. The speeds are also identical, if not a tiny bit lower, on the iPad when tethered as the iPhone 4 same 3G connection.

I can't recommend it enough!

I went with 3G because I have an iPhone 4 with unlimited data. Beware that if you go for the hotspot option you lose unlimited. (But thanks to my wife's iPhone without unlimited the hotspot is an option.)

Thanks for the advice... think I will save myself some cash and do that! Now just gotta a) sell my 64gb £G model..... oh and b) wait 'til the new ones are released in the UK... drums fingers on table.... still waiting...

LOL you people crack me up. It has GLASS over it and will smudge only as much as the black does, but it will be MUCH LESS noticeable than the black!

Why am I responding to this?

The same reason I have never owned a white car

What? Black cars are impossible to keep clean! White does not show as much as a black car. Very funny comments here.

agreed...

wash a white car and a black car.. you'll notice the black car will show up water spots and swirls

anyway, i ordered a white 64 GB wifi online.. and it should arrive on the 17th..

but since i'm super impatient, i decided to go to best buy and take a look at the white ipad.. to be honest, i LOVE the 'color' white.. but really.. i felt like it looked like a nook e-reader [?].. and looked cheap ..the white looked more like a "pale" white.. if that makes any sense?! maybe it was the lighting at best buy though.

i'm hoping i fall in love with it once it arrives though!

Black cars are not hard to clean. A white car gets just as dirty.

Black cars shows scratches and swirls MUCH MUCH more easily.

White cars do not have the depth or mirror line shine of a black car.

Detailers enjoy working on black cars, it's more rewarding.

so true :(

takes at least 8 hrs of detailing on my white IS300 to get it as shiney as i want it to be

I'd be interested to know the following from any wifi iPad 2 owners who have an iPhone 4 with Personal Hotspot: does FaceTime work ok and if the iPad is asleep, will it wake up for the FaceTime call over personal hotspot?

Wait a sec normally a ipad/iphone can't use FaceTime in 3g but your saying if you use your iphone hotspot to give wifi to your ipad it thinks its on wifi and FaceTime works?
