Received my iPad 2 today after a long battle with shipping,
first impression was wow its thin!

I got the white model and in my opinion it looks better than i was expecting, i thought it was going to look like cheap plastic but i think it looks wonderful.

Using mine right now. Absolutely adore the thing. Folks at school aren't really sure whether to make fun of me or ask to play with it. Haters gonna hate

I'm not a fan of the iPad 2 cover as it doesn't protect the back, but it was a very good video review

you can protect the back and also make the display less smudgy by using Clear Coat Films that cover both front and back keeps it from scratches and it doesn't interfere with docking.

I love the design of the new iPad. It's alot easier to hold, especially laying down in bed. Typing is also easier now on portrait and my two thumbs can reach anywhere on the keyboard. Loved the speed bump. The multitasking bar pops up way faster than before. Only issue so far is the yellowish tint on my screen when it is dimmed. It doesn't bother me too much, but it does make the screen look dirty.

Overall I think the key thing is the new design. Glad I upgraded.

I picked mine up on the 21st from a local Best Buy using those inventory links. AT&T 3G 32GB Black. It's an upgrade from my iPad 1 (same type and size).

I'm completely, 100% pleased with this upgrade. I'm a power user who does a fair amount of productive work on my iPad, and the speed improvements are massive for me. The iPad 2 is just sooo smooth and responsive. Rendering of complex PDFs is no sweat. The browser is far closer to desktop performance than it was. Multitasking works perfectly, especially when you enable the multitouch gesture feature through the xcode hack. The iPad now executes my commands effortlessly, whereas the iPad 1 always seemed to be struggling just a tad, sometimes more.

This performance, combined with the unbelievable thinness, makes the device seem a little unreal. The build of the device makes it seem like nothing more a sheet of glass and a slab of aluminum glued together and shaped. It's hard to believe that there are chips and batteries and circuits in there.

My only complaint so far: the 30-pin connector is VERY finicky. It takes some wiggling to get the connector in there, and the steep slope of the curve makes this completely unintuitive. I would not have minded if they flattened that part out a little.

I love the people that post they got a certain color because it's less common. Do you not understand that Apple is going to sell millions of these? There are only 2 bezel options, Black or White. So if you think you're that special because you got black and less people are ordering it, remember you're still probably sporting the same iPad design as 500,000+ other people. Not very unique.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3 like Mac OS X; nb-no) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8F190 Safari/6533.18.5)

Got my two iPad just now.

I synced them first. Can't believe how thin it is. Will post some pictures later.

Got one 64gb wifi hvite and one 64gb 3G black

I just got mine and it's still synching (The whole 1st season of Glee is quiet an amount of Data to transfer. ^^)
Although there weren't as many people at the mStore (German retail store) where I got it, there were people all around me who didn't get the version they wanted, I felt very sorry for them. :-(

Anyways, I'm simply amazed by the iPad! :D My first "iOS-Device" was an iPhone 3G and I can't believe how much they accomplished in terms of "fingerprint-resistance". This was my only concern about getting the black version instead of the white so I'm just plain happy right now. ^_^

I'm finding the back too smooth! Its kind of hard to grip...

Otherwise Over the moon with it. Love it.

So REALLY, you just made a plea that white is more unique than black, completely contradicting your post.

Interesting.

Awesome

I picked up my 64 GB 3G Black iPad 2 at the Apple Store in Winnipeg on Canada release day. The Apple store staff member activated it and helped me set up my email address but I wasn't able to do much more with it until I got home this morning. In a word: awesome :D. I had to turn down the screen brightness a bit from the default. The unit is perfect in every way. I checked for dead/stuck pixels at blackle.com and checked for back light bleeding by playing a movie and rotating the screen. I was even surprised at how good the movie sounded through the speaker.

I struggled a bit and failed to get the SIM slot open. I will find a video to see how it is supposed to work before I do any more poking with the tool. In fact, there is no hurry at all; Bell doesn't even have data service in my area! I will use the 3G feature for those (sadly frequent) times when I'm at an airport that is supposed to have free WiFi but doesn't. ETA: more aggressive poking finally got it open.

This morning I've been working through my iPod Touch apps to find which ones require iPad versions. I also had a fun time trying to organize the much larger app screens and dock.

I thought the 10W iPad power adapter came with a long flexible cord. Either I made an error or it is just the accessory version that has the cord, not the one in the iPad box. I wrote a big "10W" in Sharpie marker on the side of the iPad power adapter because it is otherwise identical to the 5W unit that I use at home.

The sync cable that came with the iPad is horrifyingly... uh "tight". The mechanism is visibly more "spiky". I have plenty of sync cables, but it is a puzzling design change.

I'm very pleased with my new iPad and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole crazy launch day experience. :).

Not at all. I was just directly responding to the couple people on here who thought they were more unique since they got black. I suppose one color has to be "more unique" but either way, you aren't going to stand out over any other iPad with either color.

Well since we are posting pictures of our iPads once we get them, I ordered my iPad on March 11 around 1:30 pm and here is what I received today from FedEx.

mail

I called Apple Immediately and they are sending a new one but it wont get here till at least May 1st according to the rep. I know they are backordered but shouldn't I be pushed forward or something. Idk but they did credit me back for my SmartCover. Oh well stuff happens. Freaking FedEx
