Will wait very impatiently for retina didplay. Any mention of glare (outdoor) reduction?

And you know how the iPhone became multi carrier in France? It was found that the carrier exclusivity was unlawful.

Ah France...Where you can be prosecuted for giving your baby a non-government approved name or working too many hours in a week.
No thanks.

Don't own an iPad, but from what I've read, it should have a better anti-glare screen.

If the iPad 2 was more revolutionary than evolutionary, then there would be a lot of buyer remorse from people that just purchased the iPad. Some current owners will feel the urge to upgrade, while others will comfortably wait for the iPad 3.

Ah, good point. Perhaps v3 then for Gen 1 folks.

After Jobs melt down rant over the 7" size he deems too small, I've lost confidence that Apple may compete in that size class.

So...Just for the fun of it, I bought a 7" and I love it.

In the rare event Steve can get off his high horse long enough to approve it, I'm a buyer.

I'm sick of hearing "No Retina, no iPad 2 for me" bullcrap... It's not gonna make a darn difference, Retina doesn't necessarily mean more clarity. If the iPad is ten inches away from your face, you're gonna just fine. Stop complaining. Or just wait for iPad 3. Which beats the entire purpose of buying any new technology since everything is evolving so fast and a smartphone made 6 months ago is already slow and extinct.

Sounds about right, we wouldn't have morons naming their kids Optimus or having nervous breakdowns.

As disappointed as I am now that I realize the next iPad won't have a better resolution display, it makes sense. Apple is going to brag about battery life (which matters when you're talking about something portable) and other then that make a few incremental upgrades. More ram, better processor, camera, etc. But really it doesn't matter what they do because they're going to sell faster then the first one and Apple will make money hand over fist. Besides my wife possible wanting one as an e-book reader I'm still on the fence. But I do like to spend money and I'd rather give it to Apple then Motorola.

I'm anxiously awaiting the specs and to see if there is going to be the rumored $100 price increase across the board.

The Xoom and un-named Toshiba tablets have some pretty sweet specs. Curious to see how iPad 2 compares. I don't expect a Retina display, but something a bit better for reading and video would be nice.

I passed on the 1st generation of the iPad for the 2nd generation. I am going to buy five for presents, Christmas delayed.

Everyone talks about wanting the iPhone on T-mobile because of the lower cost of their plans. Does everyone who asks this w=question believe that T-mobile would be able to fork over $400 per phone to Apple and still maintain a lower plan price, while remaining profitable?

They do it in Germany and Austria...

And you know how the iPhone became multi carrier in France? It was found that the carrier exclusivity was unlawful.

It's not unlawful with the Cell Phone Companies in the US because they don't call it "unlawful"...

I guess you're buying an LG then. Hasn't it already been said they couldn't do a retina display on the iPad? I recall several articles and threads on both the complications with processing and battery issues, as well as it's a stupid thing to put on a device that is 9 inches away from your face. Oh, and it would make the iPad start at $1200 was another big point. I don't have links, but such articles have been here, CNET, and everywhere else.

That LG tablet looks kind of sweet. How much is it going to run you when you buy it? :D

If it has a retina display I'll be in line first day for the iPad 2, if there is no retina then I'll wait to look at the LG G-Slate on T-mobile also before deciding.

Spec's look pretty good also.

if this information is correct then we should estimate to when the ipad event is because we can figure out how many Apple can produce a month based on past patterns. how many ipads were in the original batch and how many did apple produce each month in the first few months it began to go on sale

You really think non-carrier exclusivity is a bad thing? You think working too many hours is a good thing?

So here's how I see it.
2011
iPad 1 - $399, i know a lot of people who bought a 3gs because it was 100 dollars less than an iPhone 4, smart move by apple if they did this.
iPad 2 - $499 - thinner lighter more powerful and still at a great price point.

then in 2012
iPad 2 - $349 maybe still $399 - still light, powerful, thin and gives it an edge with android tablets price points.
iPad 3 - $500 - RETINA display, better cameras, more powerful, lighter and thinner then iPad 2, will make iPad the best deal in the tablet market just because of it's screen.

I own an iPad 3G 64GB, and it has been great, a near perfect device. I will buy the iPad 2, and give my iPad to a relative. No need for a retina display, though I would not complain if it has one.

My prediction is that there will be no $499 16GB iPad2. Instead there will be a $399 or $429 WiFi iPad1 retained for the spot. There will be a $599 WiFi 32 GB iPad2, and a $699 3G 32 GB, and a $799 64 GB 3G.

No retina display is a deal breaker for me. No reason to upgrade, maybe they will introduce it with iPad 3.

This is going to really hurt their sales. Sure people without iPads will get it but I don't see many people upgrading.

It will do nothing to their sales. Tons of people will upgrade for the cameras and lighter weight.

the majority of apple's costumers can't even tell the difference between a 3gs and an iPhone 4 display and even if they do they don't care.
