it was by calling them (Macmall list but don't sell the iPad on their site)
from the UK - 00-1800-622-6255

Without sounding cheeky, could you please roughly work out how much a 16gb Wifi edition would be from the US and Viadress for me?

You seem in the know and I don't have much of a clue! :p

Just a rough guess would be brilliant!

Thanks!

It could get caught up in customs etc tho. Even some stateside people are looking at delivery around the UK release date now.

Im gonna dread refreshing apple.com/uk now.

There is a buy it now for a 16gb wifi in white from some dude that is in the states and will be back Monday. Although its £500 and he listed it before the 5PM sale.

I just miss my iPad :(

don't have a spare day of annual leave to queue either

If you lie upside down on your bed, let your head dangle of the side and you'll sound like your I'll when you call in sick. Apparently.

Bah, until Apple actually say the release date is going to be pushed back I wouldn't stress about it. Thinking otherwise based on anecdotal evidence is silly imo.

Fedex Express Priority (2 to 3 days)

My iPad 2 16GB WiFi + 3G will arrive next tuesday! (March 15)
I don't want to wait till the 25th, when it officially comes out in The Netherlands.

Last year, i also imported the iPad 1 immediately.. and now again with the iPad 2! Can't wait!

Probably very sensible; US shipping dates are 2-3 weeks on Apple website. So the chances of other countries also getting it in 2 weeks - im not so sure.

It's a certain risk you take. You have to trust someone you don't know that lives on the other side of the world. But it's a risk i love to take, to get the newest toys from Apple a.s.a.p. :D

Thanks! The only reason I want to do it really is that it would be cheaper!!

Forgot to ask, how did you pay for it? Did macmall take your UK card? :)

Yeah, they took my UK Visa, had to give them my uk details but it went through fine

25th seems a long way away!

sold my iPad a few days before the iPad 2 was announced, feels like ages. the 25th can't come fast enough! Do you guys think the queues will be long over here too?

Sold mine as well about 2 weeks prior to the announcement, gotta love Ebay.

Last year the queues weren't to bad at Regent Street, was in and out in about 45 minutes. :):)

Do you mind me asking how much you sold it for? What model? And where?

Thanks.

So it will be cheaper to buy the iPad 2 from the US and use Viaddress? I'm wanting the black 32GB WiFi model and I'm thinking about buying it from Macmall now?

it will work out cheaper. how much depends on what you declare/have to pay in VAt when it reaches you in the UK, but always a saving.

thing to consider though is that there's a US backlog of weeks.
they could be in UK stores in less than 2 weeks, or they could delay the UK release
