I would be queueing with the masses if i wasn't working tonight... i ordered online as in my experience once these devices have run out of stock they tend to take a couple of weeks to get back to the stock levels where you can just walk in and buy one then and there.

Because i have gone through the very things i have posted about, like queuing late, or assuming no need to queue at all i have in the past been left empty handed for a few weeks, so offering some advice to the general thread reader who may have not gone through one of the product launches before deserves such feedback in you opinion does it?

Yes i express surprise at peoples' approach to this launch, but thats fair as i obviously was under the false impression that this forum was frequented by apple fans who had watched and taken part in apple events for years gone by.... silly me!

Your definition of advice is a little off also. Take the attitude down a notch.

You get people like you on every forum.... "this forum isn't the same any more blah blah" like its some exclusive club for those who were around in the beginning. Nobody gives a rats ass what it used to be like. If you can't see your implied seniority, go re-read your posts.
 
Non Flagship Store

Anyone know if Cardiff will have any Ipad 2s? What are the chances of strolling into the store about half 6 tonight and picking one up??

Here is a simple answer mate.... Go ******* YOURSELF.... hows that for attitude!!!

In future i will not express opinion in a public forum in case idiots like YOU decide to jump on YOUR high horse and derail someone else's opinion.

If the words naive and amazement are so offending to you that you feel the need to have a go at someone then it is you that needs to check yourself!!

PS having spent a considerable amount of time on this forum before any iOS devices were released and having been an apple customer/user for 15 years i do feel that i have some standpoint when offering opinion... its the new dumbed down apple customer that really pisses me off... and it seems this forum is now filled with such 'fans'.

Did you really just write this?.. Seriously?!... Buddy, turn off the computer and get outside. Enjoy fresh air and sunshine. There is more to life than apple and writing silly things on forums.

Well, I had a 1 click order go through about 1.50, but I didn't trust it so kept trying the 'old fashioned' way and got one through just after 2 - so x2 32Gb white 3G iPads heading my way eventually! Got both email confirmations around 2.30am :D

However, patience is not a virtue I excel at, so would love to go get one after work, but earliest I can get to Meadowhall store is 3.30/4ish, and there were 7 people there before 7am, so unlikely! :(

Funny how different launches could be - when 3GS went on sale got there about 5 minutes before the store opened, strolled straight in and picked up one for me and one for the fella. iPhone 4, I believe, was chaos, and expecting the same today

You're right... but i am sitting in my garden... its nice and sunny today, and i don't start my late shift til 430pm... but i usually enjoy killing time on these forums... not lately though.

Sounds like there is no chance I will get one when I turn up at about 4:15. Now I just need to rely on the online orders being brought forward (blind hope?!).

Does new stock tend to arive into Apple Stores daily? Also, do you think smart covers will be available to walk in and buy later, or is the store closed to non-iPad 2 customers because of how busy it will be?
 
ipad 2 ordered at 1am 32gb 3g wifi, looks like its a few weeks to wait, nintendo 3ds arrived this morning :D

Touchwood Solihull Update

Had a friend who was near the Apple Store ask some questions.

Bullet points as of 9.37am

13 people in queue
Water, hot drinks and food being given out
Some people been there since 7am
Store closes at 3pm till 5
40 staff are working, 1 per customer
No reports on stock but the apple guy did say that would most likely sell out by closure at 10pm.

Hey.
By non-flagship store, do you mean AT Computers? They have stock and no queues. Apple store has people queueing already.
