I ordered White 64GB 3G at 00.29 this morning off the apple store. Zero confirmation. After falling asleep, in the morning checked the online store and my order is there with a 27 April delivery.

Noticed someone mention about the Tesco direct - cheaper with the discounts AND get it on Monday! Plus I have clubcard vouchers. Click, tap, ordered!

Seems to good to be true... but I collect it after I finish work. Will have to order my Red Cover separate. Now shall I cancel my Apple Store Order, or wait/eBay.. that is the question!

I put my tesco order in at 7.30 and the tracking is still saying
Order processing - awaiting payment confirmation


have double checked with tesco and the card company and both saying all is ok.. it the automated system and will get processed and still on track for delivery I'm told!

patience aint my strong point! maybe I should have held onto my apple order a bit longer!

When you first place the order it checks your credit card to validate, this then creates a 'holding' charge. However if the iPad does not ship within x number of days the holding charge on your card is removed. When the iPad eventually ships the card is then charged properly. This is standard credit card procedure when an item is ordered but does not ship (and be charged) immediately.
 
got my ipad 2 at Covent Garden, so happy. The 9 hour wait was worth it.. apparently the 3gs were sold out quite fast? how did it go with you guys?

you guys are the best. 64GB 3G Wifi will be delivered on monday

sure i wont be in, but i'll have it waiting for me when i get home from my hols!

only downside is, couldnt get the 16gb 3g for the missus, it had sold out.
 
When I left Regent Street at 8pm they still had loads of everything except White 3G 16 & 32. And to put that in perspective, I got on line at about 5:45 PM.

Same!! Got the 'problem' email though saying it was cancelled!

The bank guys called my dad and he has to go into the branch tomorrow! So I hope its not cancelled at all and is just waiting approval from the bank!

Online it still says processing? Should I try calling them?
 
This just in:

"We are sorry to inform you that we have had to cancel your Tesco Direct order"

It was for a single black 16gb wifi iPad 2.

Anyone else?

This sounds exactly how the iPhone Tesco launch went for either iphone 4/3gs.. i forget..... anyone else remember this??

Everyone singing Tesco's praises until they actually couldnt deliver on their promises...
 
Dammmit tesco

ordered - went through - then told me couldn't be processed and order cancelled.
called fraud number - card was blocked.
re ordered - went through ok - then....

CANT BE PROCESSED

so then called bank AGAIN - no outstanding transactions etc..

Went to re-order.

OUT OF STOCK!

this sucks!

I had no trouble with the iPhone 4 launch and Tesco. I was first in line at the Orange store to collect two PAYG iPhone 4's that I had discussed with the manager the previous day. They changed their minds on me after many hours of queuing and waiting. Very unimpressed.

So I ended up going to Tesco and picking up two iPhone 4's on contract with them. Quick and easy and pleasant. I got a pineapple at the same time.
 
I went to Western Computer in the end cos I heard the Bullring was really busy, was 9th in line and managed to get a 64GB 3G. They didn't have any leather smart covers but luckily the one I ordered yesterday game today.

I ordered mine just after 7.30. My Order Status is:-

Products ordered:
1 x Apple iPad 2 32GB Wi-Fi 3G Black
( At warehouse - dispatching soon )

I've ordered a white 16GB Wifi from Tesco, my order tracking is currently at: "Order processing - awaiting payment confirmation"

Money is still in my account though...not really very confident for some reason. Although TonyStark's post has made me feel slightly better.

And so does THFourteen's post! Here's hoping!!!
 
It must have been the 3GS launch then... i remember as i was sorely tempted to switch to Tesco as they were offering some great deals and EVERYONE was going to them for their handsets.... then it came to light they had over sold their stock and slowly but surely peopl began getting similar email like the one posted above.

Has everyone here got a really short memory? I am just saying....
 
walked into my local currys at 6pm, picked up the last iPad 2 16Gb wifi in black with the last grey smart cover and last HDMI cable. i feel lucky!!!! :) spent the last coupla hours syncing all my ipad apps over along with music, videos and updating to 4.3.1! no backlight bleeding or yellowing.

SO GLAD I DIDN'T BOTHER ORDERING ONLINE!!! :D :D :D

I managed to reserve a 32GB black wifi for collection at Comet...only to arrive and be told that the reserve system was a technical glitch as Head Office told them no reservations were allowed, at Apple's instruction; of course by 7pm, they had sold out :( Will fire off a complaint to their Head Office tomorrow.

But thanks to you lot on here, have also got one through Tesco Direct, due to arrive on Monday. It all seemed a bit easy though, so will hold-off from cancelling my Apple order until the Tesco one is confirmed completely.

Thanks for posting about Tesco everyone.:)

I've just ordered another iPad from Tesco using a different card.

Now I have:

One order with Apple: Delivery by 26th April.
One order with Tesco: Order processing - awaiting payment confirmation
One order with Tesco: CheckedOut (the most recent one).

Assuming the latest Tesco order looks good, I'll cancel the Apple one.
