iPad 2 UK Thread

I don't know if anyone is still looking to buy an iPad but I've just walked out of the Brighton Apple store and people are walking in and picking them up. They have stock if anyone is near and wants one.
This got me really excited and I phoned them but they only have 1st gen in stock
I'd pop down there if it wasn't for a 30 mile round trip to get there and home. Tempted to call again and say I've heard people coming into the store and picking up iPad2's, have you got any...
My tesco order still stuck on "at warehouse - dispatching soon" status... Hopefully that'll change overnight, I'm supposed to be picking it up tomo
I have a feeling that this will change tomorrow morning to being dispatched tos tore. It will most likely be on their delivery truck along with any other electrical goods that will be delivered on Monday. They may not have a delivery of that kind on a Sunday.
I could be wrong but that is how the Co-operative deal with those kind of things.

A nice lady just phoned me to confirm that it is 'me' who ordered using my credit card on Friday evening .. I told her YES! (I was very grown-up and managed to restrain myself) .. she told me that my order should be here in three days!!!!
All excited now and maybe a little less loopy (maybe not!)

PS I have ordered Apple products from non-Apple places before .. when/if there's a problem with the product I always go straight to Apple (using their Ireland phone number) and have had no trouble at all dealing with it that way. Had my first gen iPhone replaced that way also. The Apple aftercare has, for me, been faultless .. now, if they could just get their online ordering up to speed lol

Nope this didn't work either, said they don't have any stock, not sure of the next delivery and best is to order online (which I've done but I'm being impatient)

I was in there yesterday afternoon and loads of people asking for them and they all said out of stock.
Fingers crossed my online order speeds up...
I'm really glad I'm in no rush for my order from Apple... but, I find it incredible 3rd party companies (effectively online too) are providing their orders to customers before the actual manufacturer/company who's produced them.
My only question is... why didn't Apple set the launch date in two weeks time when the stock was actually here in the UK, ready to be shipped?
Unless I'm missing something, that seems to be the logical way this should have been handled.
Even though we were all aware of the shipping dates before ordering, it just frustrates people, as seen on here.

Yip, it probably is and its just not updated on the site.
My original order which got cancelled still says 'Awaiting Payment Confirmation' but its definitely cancelled and has been since Friday night 30minutes after I ordered!
Oo, got a text from Tesco saying that it should arrive on or before Monday 28th.
Also gave me a ref number to www.myhdnl.co.uk which says its "The parcel has been sorted at our hub" at 11.08, so I guess its not coming today xD
Roll on tomorrow!

Excited now and pleased I haven't had to queue or have an estimated delivery for weeks into the future...Argos should be delivering my Blue Smart Cover tomorrow too, so will hopefully have both things for me to play with tomorrow!
I picked up one yesterday from the Covent Garden apple store without even so much as having to queue - they still had a handful of black 16gb Wifi in stock but everything else had sold out (I suspect they have sold out of everything by now).
This was a little surprising as I bought the same model from Tesco Direct on Friday to collect on Monday, but given the choice of getting it a few days early I bought a second and will return the Apple one next week (as the Tesco one was cheaper due to their £10 voucher).
However if anyone wants to take the brand new one I get from Tesco off my hands I would be happy to sell for £399 - not interested in making any profit, but if anyone is having trouble finding one I'd be happy to help out. I'm in SW19, send a PM if you are interested.
Also, my local PC world has a sign outside that due to "Exceptional demand" they don't have any in stock at the moment. I found out that they only ever had 6 delivered! More like a supply shortage methinks.

After picking up my iPad 2 16 GB Black on Friday at 5PM and discovering it was dented in the silver bezel top right of the screen I returned it to the store. I purchased from Comet, and although they weren't terribly apologetic, I understand that it isn't their fault.
My new iPad 2 was ordered in for Tuesday and isn't too long to wait now. Not to say that I wasn't extremely annoyed, upset and angry.

Mine came with a hip in the glass, not too bothered atm... will sort it out at a later date, notes made on account.
