yeah, it's rough that you cancelled the Apple order before getting your mitts on the iPad from Currys.

I would phone Currys .. it may be a glitch with the card (which it was with mine) and they may actually have stock. I asked today when on the phone with them and they had 172 other black iPad2 64GB wifi/3G in stock so they may have others.

Has anyone got one that doesn't actually have a backlight issue?

I've only seen two or three people who maintain they don't.
But no photo's to back this up.

Also, as it can be a matter of opinion, without an independent party to back this up and/or compare the screen to another known one which is deemed to be good. We can't, just be reading, we 100% sure.

Odds are, there must be some good ones, but, from what I've read so far, it could be something crazy like one in 50 or something.

Sorry to hear. It is the reason I haven't cancelled my Apple Store online order even though I should get my Tesco order Monday. Then again your probably not missing out on much as these Apple orders don't look like they'll move any time soon.

Keep checking the major online stores all next week. I had most success with Best Buy online (I hesitated too long), John Lewis online (I ordered but rang up and cancelled as I forgot to check the right colour) and Tesco Direct (perfect and discounted).

Good luck, there should be new stock next week.

Nah, mine is fine and I absolutely love it. Made the right choice with the White.

That's annoying sorry to hear that!
Hope it doesn't affect myself also; I never got a delivery order ref for the courier so that's concerning!
If it doesn't come tomorrow I may call them and cancel, and cross my fingers that new stock arrives tomorrow morning!

If it is related to stock issues, then shame on Curry's online inventory system!

I consider myself very lucky, having read of a few different problems people have encountered!

That's great but his post still stands - we haven't seen any screens of defect-free iPad's!

Could you do us all a favour and post yours?
 
So after waiting for 7 hours in the PC World Castle Marina, Nottingham queue ( I was 3rd)... I didn't get much chance to play with my iPad 2 32gb wifi... only light browsing and the F1 this morning..
I did receive my red smart cover from Apple on friday too...which i quite like :)

Went to the Covent Garden Apple store on Saturday (I was in the area), and they only had 16gb black wifi's in stock... at least they had stock! New delivery in the morning apparently.

So far, I'm loving the iPad 2.. will be using it more tonight for watching movies etc.... so hopefully i won't find any bleeding or pixel issues!

Now I am Nervous I too cancelled my Apple order

I hope you get it sorted I would give them a ring and see what they have to say

I don't have a good enough camera to take a picture to be honest. But it's not staring me in the face so I can't see any problems. I wasn't even sure what problem i was looking for until I searched for it. If everyones had this backlight bleed wouldn't the whole of the net be going crazy like the antenna issue with iPhone 4?

My tesco's order that is due in store for pickup tomorrow has just changed status to: Sending from warehouse to store (Ref #71).

This apparently means it is on its way to the store.
