I'm rather confused now!
Checked my tracking no this morning with comet, and got the below message. Got instantly annoyed.
Called the number, and by the end of it the automated women said it was on track for AM delivery today!
Not sure who to believe!

I phoned again yesterday and they said I should receive email later that night or Monday morning giving me details of tracking parcel.
Still waiting.
Argos have just confirmed Smart Cover will be with me between 12-6 today

I tried to order my ipad 2 from apple when they went online on Friday morning. When I saw there was a 2-3 week delivery I decided to take my chance and try and get it sooner elsewhere. Was very excited when I managed to order one from Comet on Friday night for delivery on Monday. By the time the order went through the delivery had changed to Tuesday disappointed but still happy I had one on its way even though was paying extra for delivery. On Saturday looked at Argos website to find they had what I wanted for delivery on Monday but as I thought I had already got one couldn't afford to buy two. Today I get a call from Comet asking me questions to confirm my details never had that before when buying online. Then was told i would get confirmation email shortly .. Ten minutes later got another call from Comet telling me the were sold out and couldn't process my order ..
Now I will have to wait hoping apple will get more stock this week and I will go to the store.
Did anyone have the same happen to them at Comet?
Does anyone know if Apple are getting more stock this week? I'm after a black 32gb with 3g
I wouldn't reply on the Apple Store.You would be far down a growing line and some US customers who bought at launch online still havent got their orders.
I would check religiously the main websites whom sell online Jonh Lewis, Tesco Direct, PC WOrld, Comet and Curry's. I expect many of them to get more stock this week. Remember obscure websites such as Best Buy UK etc too.
I haven't received anything either, surely it can't take that long to give people tracking numbers for the products!

They had a hold on my account for funds, when will they fackin ralease that?!
Just rang curry's (as I also ordered Fri late afternoon) and had recieved 2 emails but no details of tracking etc
They said that it is allocated and now waiting to be picked up by DHL and he was confident that I will get an email today confirming and with a DHL tracking number etc.
So there is still hope...

These streak lines on my iPad from the smart cover are really starting to irritate me! £59 for a case, and it's leaving marks over my screen
where do the streak lines occur and do you know why?
I went to the Regent St. store this morning at 7.45am and queued up (I was about 20th in line) then 15 mins later one of the staff came out to say they had none in stock today and were not getting any today either! By that time the queue was already around the corner!
But I got to my office and had a look at all the usual online stores but found nothing, however HMV.com do have wifi ones for dispatch in 24 hours so I bagged one of those (I wanted wifi anyway - they still have some so get them while you can!

I've seen that with a couple of ipad 1 cases too. They seemed to be caused by dust gathering in the recesses that allow the case to fold.

I know the bits of the case that touch the screen are very good at removing the greasy fingerprints it's just a shame that it then makes very hard lines of fingerprints on the bits of the screen that it doesn't touch!
Think I prefer the whole screen covered in fingerprints as its less distracting.
Looking forward to ditching the smart cover when my Dodo case arrives from the states.
Anyone know how many people were in the trafford centre queue in the end? It was massive when I got there at 3, and when I left I could only just see the end of the queue!
Cases: PC world have a selection for ipad 2. I popped in there yesterday to have a look at the smart cover before picking up the one I'd reserved at argos - glad I did, I'm not convinced that they're all that good after trying one in store, they're kind of cool but not very practical.
They don't cover the back at all, so either you get a separate case for the back, or it inevitably gets covered in scratches. No protection for the sides + corners too. The magnets + automatic lock are great, but other than that it's a pretty thin + not great quality cover, for quite a lot of money. They forgot to put magnets on the back too, so when it's open it kind of hangs loose.
Also, when you roll them up to use as a stand, the soft microfibre surface is sitting on the table. It's going to pick up dust and stuff, and then when you close the screen it'll be pressing that dust/grit/whatever against the screen it's supposed to protect. You can roll it 'inside out' but it's a little awkward.
After trying that I got a targus case for the same price. It covers front + back with plenty of protection, and works more or less as well as the smart cover as a stand. It's slightly fiddly to open it as a stand, but not much worse than the smart cover. It's quite a bit thicker though of course. No magnets, so it's manual button pressing for me. I'm sure I can manage a single button. Maybe I can slip a small magnet into it somehow?
I think if you can wait a while, there will be 3rd party cases with magnets, but a bit more practical than apple's. Or maybe somebody will come up with something that protects the back/sides while you have a smart cover on the front. They could put some magnets in it to hold the cover to the back too.
Oh yeah, I asked the guy there about the ipad - they had 60 on friday and sold out pretty instantly. The queue started at 9.30 He also said they're not expecting any more stock until april 23rd (or maybe 25th, can't remember).
