I would have thought, if they have taken your money, that the order has been shipped. That's usually how it works.

I would have thought, if they have taken your money, that the order has been shipped. That's usually how it works.
Ordered from Macwarehouse this morning. Order indicates that it will ship today but phoned up and asked them to confirm this so I could take tomorrow off.
Was told that they have taken significant orders over the weekend and stock is currently being allocated. When I told him I ordered this morning he said they would expect to get more stock in this week
Hopefully a shipping confirmation email turns up this afternoon but it looks doubtful.
You'd think companies would have automatic stock allocation databases. Why would a company turn off their servers over the weekend?
I hope that's not the case!
After calling them to check that they had stock and that the delivery date shown on my account page was correct, I decided not to cancel my macwarehouse purchase and order from John Lewis instead (actually had the same ipad in my basket!).

Just got my tracking number from Currys! just checked my credit card online and it says that the currys transaction date was Friday (when I placed my order) and they have taken the money.
Presumably they wouldn't do that without stock to deliver?? Is that right?

Was just having a look in the shipping notice thread in this forum. While it is obviously filled with mostly US shipping/delivery conversations at this point, that will change in the coming weeks those of us in the UK start fretting about our deliveries (myself included).
I did notice a few links to the following web tool for entering in your basic order details so that you can see how shipments ordered before (and after I suppose) yours are flowing.
Currently only see 3 UK shipments in the list, would love a few more of us to enter our details so we can get a good idea of how things are moving along.

I had placed an order through Currys on Friday evening. I got the dispatched email finally just now. Its being sent by DHL. The wait is on now!!
Those getting Currys DHL details can you please let me know the time you place your orders?

No email here yet either. Ordered at 6:30pm friday from Currys.
Boy on the phone just told me it would be shipping today though. Got the impression I was not the first to have bugged him about it either.
Just picked up my iPad 2 from tesco store... They said 4pm but I rang them at 12.30 and they said available to collect now 
right I'm off to cancel my apple order.. 25th April... Yeah right... Happy days... I think I'm about done with this thread now... Thanks to everyone for listening to my rants and for recommending Tescos as a better way than apple to get one hope everyone gets theirs soon it's been a roller coaster ride!

It seems that every little does indeed help... Tesco have done what Apple has been unable to do - and deliver me an iPad!
I ordered at 12.30am on Friday from Apple - with delivery due 20th April. I ordered around 18.45pm on Friday from Tesco - and it's just arrived.
It's busy Sync'ing at the moment, and it's gorgeous! It's a Black 32GB 3G.
Question is - do I let Apple deliver the one I ordered from them and sell it, or cancel it?

Did you call the store "direct"?
Mine is showing as "Sending from warehouse to store (Ref #71)". I'm expecting to head out in a moment to collect it - I wonder if they've got it ready for me or not...
