Just spoke to PCW/Currys CS and they said that I've definitely been allocated one, but they may not send tracking info due to the demand for the product.

Annoyed now I'm going to have to wait in all tues and wed :(

The order update saga at Currys continues. Finally gave in and phoned them again this evening to ask before they shut. The woman on the end of the phone went through the whole order thing and then eventually told me that mine had been released and was definitely awaiting collection by the courier DHL. I should expect it Wednesday at the latest.

Now a little more confident I may see this thing this week after all. I hope it's worth it!

Tesco Deliver

My black 32GB 3G arrived first thing this morning. Was left with a neghbour before I got to my studio at 09.30. Ordered 19.30 on Friday from Tesco Direct. Pretty pleased with that service....
Didn't get round to opening the box today, didn't want to just do ir wanted to have a bit of time, but never found the right moment.
So it is still in a big brown cardboard box until at least tomorrow.
Need to get hold of a smart cover..... anyone know if there are in in stores in the square mile who have black leather one in stock?
 
Wheeeee , finally got my confirmation and tracking number. Was just away to give up checking for the day and clicked refresh one last time and ther it was !! lol

In a better mood now :)
 
Picked mine up from Tesco. The status was still showing as "in transit" but a quick call to the "Electrical Desk" showed the product was waiting for me.

Picked it up and it's beautiful. Glad I got it - time to get on with work now :)

Incidentally, it does have a little backlight bleed. Not sure if this is something that's going to resolve itself (probably not) over time or if Apple will correct it for later batches. If they correct it in later batches I'll make an exchange in a few months.

For now though, happiness at last.

I ordered a red smart cover from Apple which doesn't appear to have moved at all. I'll probably get it in April sometime.

Yes kind of. Did them as separate orders. Ordered iPad first then smartcover.

Have only had a despatch and tracking email for the smart cover - do you think they are shipping them together in one box or am I going to end up with the cover but no iPad?

UPDATE: Just had a tracking email for the iPad too - hoorah!

You'll be in an even better mood when it arrives. Not kidding the iPad 2 is in a league of its own. All the little upgrades make a big difference. Just don't mention the camera.
 
I've had my curry's tracking email now too...

Looks like it'll be worth my while going to pick my cover up from Tesco after all!

... Then to cancel my apple order.
 
Definitely annoyed that I ordered with Apple when everyone else seems to be shipping them right away. Oh well, guess I know for next time ...
 
placed an order at 19:15 on Friday with PC World, got the email saying it had been processed about 10 minutes later, but nothing since. is there anyone thats placed there order around this time thats had the email from DHL?... every time I call up I get a different response so im a bit :confused:

They're out of stock.

I ordered yesterday with PCW. PCWorld Business have iPad 2 in stock though.

Just ordered a 16GB White WIFI iPad 2 from the Comet website. Its given me a delivery date of next Monday so fingers crossed!

I ordered yesterday with PCW, I rang them and they said it's definitely been allocated, and awaiting pickup by DHL, so best bet is to give them a ring in the morning and find out.
 
When i ordered they were in stock and everyone I've spoken to have been consistent with the fact that I've been allocated one; im just being impatient and want to know when its likely to get to me + also so I can make sure someone is @ home

Same with me, I know I'm being impatient, I would have bought one from an Apple Store if there was any closer than 40 miles away :(

They've said it'll be here for wed at the latest so fingers crossed.

Had a change of heart - going to pick one up for the gf!!^^

Anyone know where I could possible pick up a white one this week?

(Or anyone have a new one to sell??)

What's wrong with the camera ?

Yeah can't wait, hopefully it arrives tomorow but 95% expecting it to be wed.

My first iPad aswel so should be fun.
