Isn't that the point? The iPad isn't supposed to be a camera... and you'd look a little nuts holding it up to take shots too! The cameras are there solely for video chat...and they are just fine for that.
Just FYI, Tesco Direct are taking orders again with an estimated delivery slot of tomorrow.
So if you're like me, still trying to order, they seem to have another surge of stock. Won't believe it until I get the despatch notice, though. But they are estimating delivery by Weds 30th.
Made this account to spread the information, came really close to ordering one the other day thanks to information in this thread (texting Argos, was just too late though) so thought I'd try to pay it forward a bit.

Amen. Anyone buying an iPad for taking snapshots needs their head examining IMO. Anyone in these forums knew before purchase that they were crap quality.
I don't even use my iPhone for holiday snaps. It's just there as a convenient solution if I'm desperate. I certainly won't be whipping out the iPad for a snap.
Yeah it would have been nice for Apple to stick a better camera on there... just because... but in practice it's not really necessary.
Oh dear. This morning i did a rebooted the device and at the Apple logo screen i noticed a stuck pixel. So in addition to the backlight bleed i also now have a stuck pixel. *sigh*
Question now is, do i hold on to it and do a warranty swap once Apple sort themselves out? (they are aware of the backlight bleed issue and are trying to change production accordingly apparently) or do i just cut my loss, return the device, and buy-in at a later date?

As above, still awaiting payment confirmation, but should clear by the end of the day I would have thought...
Also, Apple have started taking reservations for instore collections! Go to Find a retail store" on the main site. Hardly any stock showing however

rubbish,,,,,,,,they don't care, they just want your money!! Any genius I know said they have received no instructions on light bleed issues.....plus no public statement.....get your facts (or lack of) straight!

Not got my White iPad yet hopefully today ordered grey Smartcover which came
yesterday and have kept my order of red Smartcover with apple
Going to see which I think looks the best
Latest on my Currys Delivery tracking with DHL it arrived at Hayes Service Centre which is about 8 miles
from my house.

Order tracking from DHL for me says :

No mention of scheduled time - should there be?
UPDATE: Just called DHL - the services these are sent out on do not get a sheduled time. The nice lady said it will be with me before 5:30 today. If I am not in will get card and can book redelivery or fetch from depot.
Have to go out today about 10 or 11 so hope it comes before then!

Still hoping for PC World to deliver. Order acknowledged at 17.15 Friday. Received voicemail from them to check details on Saturday and called on Sunday morning. I then received the "We are now preparing your PC World order for delivery" email but still haven't received the tracking email. I called CS yesterday evening to be told that they had none in stock... then when she checked she said I had been allocated one but didn't know when it would be despatched. My credit card account shows they debited my account on Friday. So I'm still hoping but not that confident!
Fallback is my 26 April delivery from Apple online. Hopefully this will come forward as so many people are cancelling who get them elesewhere. I still can't belive that an early Apple order quoted as 2-3 weeks ended up as 3 weeks plus 9 days for delivery (even from China this is a long time!).

Having ordered from Tesco Direct at 7am, it's sitting at "awaiting payment confirmation". Now I'm at the office I suspect my F5 key is going to take a battering. And I'm a web developer so it's already looking a bit worn...
