iPad 2 UK Thread

MacWarehouse were listing 10+ of the black 32GB WiFi model yesterday lunchtime, so I put an order in - fully expecting it to turn out to be out of stock. I had a despatch email by the time I left work, and it's out for delivery with DHL now! That's with their free shipping too.

They're showing 10+ of the white 16GB WiFi and white 32GB 3G models, plus 6 of the white 16GB 3G >here<. The black 32GB WiFi model isn't showing in that list as it's been incorrectly put in the AppleTV section, which probably explains why it's not selling out! That's also showing as 10+ in stock, >here<. Got to be worth a punt for someone.
 
My Currys order that I placed on Friday night is "out for delivery" yeyyyyy :-D, hope everyone manages to get there's!

I was one that stayed up till 1am on Friday morning to place my order with Apple online, Only to find out that Tesco Direct were selling them. Unfortunately at the time when I went to order on Sunday they were sold out of the one I wanted iPad32gb white

Tuesday morning I managed to grab one as they had stock and as the girlfriend works there part time I got 10% off the iPad and Smart Cover and an extra £10 off with a voucher code on there website and it is free delivery on all iPads

Managed to make a whopping saving of £69 and it got delivered this morning so within 24hours

The morale of the story is that Tesco Directs service was amazing :D

And I too am a member of the iPad 2 family.. Sorry for the essay! :cool:

Thanks for that, ordered a white 16 GB 3G. Will cancel my Apple order once this one arrives.
 
Ok so I ordered mine from PC World online about 4pm on Sunday when they were showing stock of the 64Gb Wifi. I got the usual couple of emails saying that the order was processed, the money has been taken, and that 'your order will be delivered'

Like others I haven't heard a peep since, but I am encouraged by others who have ordered from Currys and PCW that they are getting deliveries.

My question is, has anybody who ordered on Sunday from PCW or Currys got their tracking number yet, or even had theirs delivered?
 
yep thanks for the heads up about mac warehouse. i just ordered a black 32gb

I ordered from PC WORLD saturday 9am.. had these emails same as what you have has it seems.

still no email about dispatch, but like you and others the emails i did get suggested id get delivery within 3days. so really i was expecting it today

never use pcw again

Here we go then .. another day another 'will they, won't they' deliver/send tracking email/take my money etc etc!

Mine is now in the hands of DHL so I'm starting to believe! .. It's moved from Lincoln to Manchester overnight but I'm not sure if that's close enough to be delivered today or not.

I took my smart cover out of it's packaging again yesterday just to admire it LOL

My concern is they're showing as having 85 in stock, very unlikely. I'm going to phone them in a moment about my order to see if it's going to be fulfilled or put on backorder (that I'll cancel)

I ordered from PCW Friday 17.15 (although security checked Sunday at 10.10). They took my money on Friday and still haven't sent a tracking number even though I have been told it has been "allocated" then "released". To be honest I would never use PCW through choice as I think their communication and system is terrible. Am starting to think I should be looking elsewhere... just wish I'd ordered from Tesco last Friday :(

I ordered from PCW/Currys and was checked on Sunday. I was told on the phone they had stock and asked them to double check. They confirmed. I get an email yesterday saying there is a problem so i rang them and they told me it's out of stock and I haven't been allocated one. Ridiculous.

I still got my Apple order open so that's my back up plan.

Funny thing is this isn't even for me, friends who aren't as computer savy have asked me to order for them. So in effect I'm a surrogate Ipad 2 owner, :eek:. I won't be upgrading my Ipad 1 64 3G until next year.
 
so many places still selling the iPad 1st Gen!

Isn't it weird that Currys, Argos etc are still selling the 1st Gen iPads at FULL price?! lol .. so they cost MORE than the iPad 2. All I can think is that maybe they're making some sales from people who are so desperate for an iPad they'll get the old one and/or they're not realising it's 1st Gen until it's arrived at their home?!

Am in exactly the same position with PC world.
Ordered 64gb wifi at about 5:10 and still no tracking number.
Have sent a complaint this morning as I was promised a tracking number on Monday, Tuesday and now today.
 
Who'd have thought it. After all that hassle and staying up to order from Apple at ridiculous-o'clock, Tesco are the ones who come through. iPad ordered yesterday morning, wife is off to pick it up just now.

How do you find stock levels at Tesco branches ?
 
what would be the reason they haven't sent them if they had them???

I never experienced this before..

i got both emails 1 order confirmation
2 we are processing your order

on both.. i just dont think they have them.. i haven't had a phone call yet

i called yesterday and they said no its 3-5 days :mad:

Thank you soooo much for this! I ordered straight away. Been looking everywhere for a black 32GB WiFi for ages.

The confirmation email states that they had 85 in stock at the time and estimated shipping was for today.

yep i got the same receipt 85 in stock about an hour ago after ordering

let me know what they say:confused:
