iPad 2 UK Thread

Finally managed to get a black 64GB+3G from Comet after a whole mess of mistakes! Ordered from Apple at 1am on Friday, cancelled on Friday evening so I could order from PC World at which point my bank put a fraud lock on the account - so no order made. By the time I'd sorted that out on Saturday they'd sold out, but thanks to this awesome thread I tried when stock re-appeared on Sunday... only for the same thing to happen!

At that point I gave up and decided to wait (ha!) until my local PC World or Comet had them in stock. Then Comet get some online stock in today and I pulled the trigger - success!

Comet currently have the black 16GB Wifi, 64GB Wifi, 32GB 3G and 64GB 3G in stock - no white models at all I'm afraid.

Thanks again to all the top folks who keep updating about stock appearing in various stores... if it wasn't for you my credit card would be £659 better off ;-)

Caveat emptor

I ordered one from them yesterday, saying they were in stock, then received an email later saying they couldn't process my order, I phoned them, out of stock - weren't expecting any for a week or two

:EDIT: Just had an email from them, just a receipt confirming the order and despatch date....
 
Was going to order from Comet but says delivery from 14 days?
Far too impatient for that!

Yeah getting 14 days delivery also, I think I'll hang on for another retailer hoping Tesco has some more in soon :eek:
 
Managed to get an order in for a Black 64GB 3g delivered to the Birmingham area next Tuesday ;)

Did a live chat to confirm they have the stock in :apple:

Confirmation and processing emails received
No security check
No tracking sent
Money taken from account on 28th
Lady on the phone said I have been allocated one, it's DHL's fault I don't have it yet...yeah yeah sure it is!

Bizarrely they're out of smart covers though!

Now the only question is when to cancel the apple store order! Shipping 15th april, reckon I'll be ok to cancel on the 5th?
 
Ordered and also did a live chat which I've had emailed through to me confirming stock. Tuesday morning hopefully :) - 32Gb 3G!

i wouldnt worry about the smart cover. i am taking mine back for a refund... it's kinda useless for what its worth - gonna go with a yoobao instead for the same money.
 
Comet seem to have some in stock but the earliest delivery date I was being given was Monday.
On second checking it was actually Monday the 11th not next monday.

Trying to work out the truth behind MWH, a colleague of mine E-mailed them regarding an iPad 32gb and was told they'd sold out of them days ago and weren't expecting stock for a week or two..

I'm not so hopeful about being "allocated" today..

DHL is showing my parcel being 'picked up' last night at 7pm...
 
COMET apparently does have ipads 2 in stock

I have just called them and they said for me 64gb wifi i could get by 6th or with 3G by 11th.. I've a order with Macwarehouse, so think i'll wait and see when that comes in...

Cancelled my original order Sunday hoping to shop for one but it all seems impossible!!

I've just reordered from Apple again and going to wait!!
As a treat gone from 32g to 64g + leather case.....this sort of makes me feel better :D
