Was on the phone to PCW while trying to get a white one, had it gone through i would have cancelled. As it stands mine is probably still 3 days away! 🙄

My red iPad smart cover arrived today... Glad I cancelled the iPad and went to Tesco (£10 off, plus QuiDCo and club card points 🙂)
My iPad arrived from Comet today, I ordered on the 28th so only took a week. Sadly it's been delivered to my wifes work so wont get my hands on it till 5.30🙁

Beware of iPad 1's lurking at John Lewis and other stores
My brother's wife has just ordered him a 64GB 3G at John Lewis - huh! Alarm bells ring - She has ordered an iPad 1 - which is fine if that is what you want, but a bit disappointing if you expect an iPad 2.

Smart cover has arrived and the gelaskin has arrived. Wife went for the battered looking, back of a guitar-style union jack cover, makes a bit of a change from a dull black cover on the ipad 1. She's not decided whether to put the front part of the skin on yet.
Gelaskin is really nice. Easy to put on, seems very tough and durable. Looks to be a good combination with the smart cover in terms of protecting it from scratches while not adding a lot of bulk.

Managed to get hold of mine today by phoning the Apple store (Buchanan Street, Glasgow) just as it was opening. Like most folk on here I'd tried to reserve at 9pm every night with no luck, so popped into the store yesterday and had a chat with one of the sales guy's who pretty much admitted the reserve online option was useless and that it had crashed completely on the Saturday night with no one being able to to reserve any of Sunday's stock, so come Sunday midday the store manager decided to offer anyone coming in that day's stock as no one was able to reserve, I'd missed out by about an hour🙄
Anyway the guy I spoke to said to call the store first thing in the morning as they get stock in everyday of every model, now, when I called this morning the first thing they asked was did I have a reservation, when I told him no due to Apple's servers timing out and being advised by a store salesman to call instead, they eventually gave in and reserved the one I was after. Took a few calls back to confirm the model I wanted once they checked the new stock but got there in the end.
So, my advise would be to call early bells and don't expect to be offered one right away, be persistent and firm but not rude. 🙂

Ordered mine 26th March on ebay at 31 quid above retail price but with exchange rate to euro, paid what I would in Portugal without the wait. Very happy and waiting for skin from skinflips in germany.

Found out last Friday that an old friend of mine works for Apple. Today picked up a 32G with 3G in black! Very happy so far, no light bleeding and already downloaded a load of apps - time to play! Cancelled the order with Apple

It looks like the dispatch time on Apple's online store has gone from 3 to 4 weeks back to 2 to 3 weeks which is what it was in the beginning. Hopefully this is a good sign for those of us who still have online orders pending.
I've all but given up on the online reservation system which is a joke. The last three nights I've been able to select one for reservation only to get to the final step to be told there are no pickup times.
I can't walk into a store during the week as I work 9 to 5 and can't get away. By the time I finish work any that may have been available have already gone. On the weekends there are just way too many people with the same idea.
I just hope I can get one before the 21st of this month. 😡

PCW have never had a great reputation - more fool you to trust them.
Lesson learnt the hard way! 😀
