We’re sorry, but there are no pickup dates available at this store. Please check back later, try another Apple Retail Store location, or shop the Apple Online Store.

what the point of showing the stock then? this makes no sense.

i agree, why do this? pointless

After 5 days of non stop frustration, finally managed to reserve one!
Really wanted a 64gb but got a 32gb. Definitely not complaining though.
Good luck guys! Keep persevering!

Please keep trying. You will eventually win.

After many days with all the frustrations you mention I got lucky tonight.

I set up Safari ready to hit Cabot Circus in Bristol and Firefox for Cribbs also in Bristol. A few seconds after 9pm I had success with Safari and and after selecting the iPad I was after I nearly fell off my chair when I got a choice of time slots to pick it up. Never got that far before, I was gobsmacked!

Got the confirmed reservation email from Apple a few seconds later and I'm over the moon. Pick up a white 32gb + 3G tomorrow just before lunch.

Could never decide whether to go for white or black, I prefered white but my wife said black, but white was the only choice at 32gb with 3G so that was it.

Magic!!

yet another fruitless reservation attempt

refreshed page at 8.59 - reserved a 64gb white 3g - went to pick a time slot
'we're sorry there is no stock available'

Its easier to book with Ticketmaster than this. Surely there should be at least 30 seconds allowed on the reservation before it screws up and doesn't let you have it?

this is one almighty FAIL

I've been trying for days and finally got one! I found firefox more reliable, plus it had my appleId password saved, so it was quicker. Try refreshing at 8:59 like others have mentioned. I'm sure there's an element of luck though.
Does anyone know how strict apple are about arriving at the pick-up time?

Well I was allowed to select 4-4.30pm but there was no stock left to have!

Just to let everyone know that you can still reserve 16Gb Wifi Models at the Regent Street Store online, just reserved one and it gave me a collection time and not the generic error that we've all been experiencing.

I might try the reservation system again on Friday and see if I can get one reserved with a pick up time for Saturday. I can't really get away from work during the day on weekdays to go pick one up anyway so my only option is the weekend. With any luck my online order may have shipped by then anyway.

John Lewis at this moment in time have had stock of 16GB WiFi and 16GB WiFi 16GB+3G both in black. Been in stock since at least 7 am this morning when the misses bought one.

The iPad stock alert page that jibber4568 posted yesterday is great and worked very well for me.

http://www.ipad-stock.co.uk/ipad-stock-alerts.aspx

I have been signed up several retailers websites including John Lewis to be e-mailed when a few different models were back in stock. I started using the stock tracking page yesterday and signed up for alerts there as well. This morning, the stock tracking page sent me an alert that John Lewis had the 16GB 3G Black in stock. I popped over to John Lewis and sure enough there had 10+ in stock, and I ordered mine straight away.

John Lewis never sent me the e-mail telling me they had some in stock.

I can definitely recommend that site as it's worked for me. While testing it out yesterday I had a few additional models select besides the one I wanted, and throughout the day several times alerts came in. As much as this sounds like spam, I have no association with the site, just very happy it worked for me. Thanks for posting it Jibber.

thanks, i've signed up for alerts on 32GB black models.

I got my ipad 2 from tesco direct last week, but my boss is struggling to get one, if i get hold of one for him i'm in the money ;)

yep, out of stock at Tesco's - had a 64GB black in my shopping basket & then signed up for tesco direct's site. Still no luck.

Called the apple regent st store earlier, asked them if it would be a big deal if I was late, I was told that my reservation would go into tomorrow's stock. Ridiculous!

Went to covent garden apple store for opening at 9am. About 30 people there all with reservations. I was told that absolutely all stock was for reservations and people had all day to collect. If not collected they go into tomorrows stock.

Used the iPad-stock link from deolub when I got home and saw the 16gb 3G model at Pcworld. I know they have a bad rep but ordered one anyway and the shipping says 3-5 days. Fingers crossed.
