Went to covent garden apple store for opening at 9am. About 30 people there all with reservations. I was told that absolutely all stock was for reservations and people had all day to collect. If not collected they go into tomorrows stock.

Used the iPad-stock link from deolub when I got home and saw the 16gb 3G model at Pcworld. I know they have a bad rep but ordered one anyway and the shipping says 3-5 days. Fingers crossed. :rolleyes:

When I picked up mine last Friday at Regent Street, they were letting myself and a couple of others into the queue "just after" 1pm, and it took 30mins for the queue to be served, but then I think they closed that section off. So it does look like they only deal with reservations until 1 or 2pm latest. I suspect they'll hold it all day though, so give it a try.
 
John Lewis just has some in stock

John Lewis just received some more stock apparently. I received an email about the 16 Gb Wifi Black. Check out the other models.

I too ordered from Apple online store on March 25 and when I saw what the wait time was I started looking elsewhere. For me Tesco did the job. Ordered it on 29 March, Tesco delivered it on the 30th.

I should finally get it today. I live in Romania and after Tesco delivered it to a friend I sent it with DHL here. :)

Yay!! Comet have just delivered my nice new iPad 32Gb 3G!! Thanks for all the help guys!

I cancelled my order with Apple and ordered with Comet last Thursday!
 
I decided to finally order online with Three. When I ordered it said "delivery on Friday 8th April" and got the confirmation email and another email saying when it's out for delivery I will be emailed again.

Just popped on there website again and it says "earliest delivery Tuesday 19th April". I'm hoping that mine does arrive on Friday, if not then I won't be happy. Fingers crossed.

I should receive the dispatch email tomorrow shouldn't I? The postage was free so I was kind of expecting a dispatch email today :(
 
Grrrr. Its nice to see so many people getting their ipad 2's....atleast it gives me hope.

My fault, (ordered from :apple: online, so still says del.est 25th april), and did the silly thing of not checking my email before I went out earlier. Came back in, checked email, "Tesco has stock!", rush to quidco...tesco.... :(

For a hand-held device its seems kinda hard to get my hands on one. :rolleyes:


Edit: Oh now I'm annoyed! :mad: within 10 seconds of finishing the post, I took a look at the ipad stock alerts page, "tesco has stock" :eek: ordered, was going through the process and some weird message about credit card came up, thought i had sorted that, clicked on confirm......... bugger. :(

Has anybody ordered an iPad from Oranges online store? Placed an order on Sunday for delivery tomorrow but I've heard from someone else that ordered a week ago that they still haven't received theirs.

Edit: It has now been dispatched.

Managed to get red smart cover from bath apple store they had some in this morning - guy in there said they were selling like gold dust

I was in Bath last week and checked in the Apple Store every day.. There was just one red leather case on the rack for like a whole week. Guess it didn't sell as the store didn't have any ipads lol.
 
Oh that must be mine then but two others came in asking for them whilst there

Never mind happy to have it

I see, I would be happy too :p How much was the red leather smart case? Also, has Bath been getting much iPad stock in recently?

I just picked up my 64GB 3G (ordered from Comet) from the post office thanks to a nice Parcelforce driver who left it there instead of taking it back to the depot! My own fault for not being in, I though delivery was yesterday for some reason and then checked to find out it was today. No way I could dodge work today, but thanks to that driver I was able to pick it up over lunch.

Now I just need to go home and get it all synced up, screen protector on and ready to roll! I bought a cheap incipio-feather like (but smart cover "friendly") case for the back from ebay until my BSE arrives, which also should have arrived today. Can't wait to see the difference the extra grunt makes...

Could you let us know whether it's shipped with 4.3.0 or 4.3.1? (and, sorry to be a bore, any backlight bleed issues?)

Lol you will love it, I'm just going through which apps are ipad friendly, and its looking great!

Arrived at lunchtime today (Tues) Yay!

PCW took just under a week but they take orders and ship when filled.

Good luck to everyone looking in collect-in-store places that only accept orders when they have stock - hope you all get what you want soon.

My red leather case is still on launch day order from apple - no rush no fuss.

Looking forward to opening this bad boy up tonight!
 
Paid £59.95 for red smart case. I think they had one or two in stock but not on display - had to ask for it
 
I think if you are a business buyer you can order - saw one guy at bath apple store buy 4 iPad 2's and 4iphones!!
 
Ordered a gray plastic smartcover (£60 is too much for a cover, and the other plastic colours weren't great), and a Sena slip case yesterday.

Also chopped up my 3 sim card and its now up and running woohoo.

impressed how thin and light this feels compared to my old ipad 1. I do have slight backlight bleeding issues that you can only see in a dark room at full brightness - and i find the lowest brightness too bright in a dark room, so i'm totally unconcerned.

good luck to the rest of you still waiting, my mrs' ipad is still on order with apple, her birthday is the 19th april fingers xd

Yeah they do that. I've had mine taken to any nearby post office. Sometimes they've not even tried to deliver and just dropped it at the post office for me to collect. B*$t*rds.

BSE = Best Skins Ever, a screen protector type thing for the rear of the iPad. I've never really been tempted by them in the past, but the reviews from the folks on here says the fit is second to none, and it it means I can keep things as "naked" as possible all the better... don't want to bulk this iPad up.

I'll let you know the shipping iOS version when I get home, but it does look like I may have some backlight bleed on the bottom edge, nearest the home button. I say "may" because I checked in a pitch black room using the only screen I have on it (the plug into iTunes screen) and even then it depends on the angle you're looking at the screen. If I put the lights on in my office you can't see any problems with the screen at all.
And as I rarely use the screen in a pitch black environment it's not something I'm going to worry about. Theoretically ;)

I'll just be going straight in with a restore from my old iPad, I'm looking forward to seeing what the graphical changes in things like Infinity Blade look like... and being able to use that extra 32GB!
 
Thanks for the Jigsaw tip. I ordered there (I have a good previous experience with them). The order is still processing, but on the phone they told me it should be ok (it was in stock when I ordered and it was still in stock after my order went through!).
Fingers crossed!
