I'm being harsh and pedantic  ;)

:)

No you're not; these things are important; it's an aid to clarity and accuracy and I let myself down. In partial defence I think it's because the gb/GB convention is non-SI (where capitals are only used for those units named after people - Watt, Newton, Joule etc. Thus it's kg for mass for example (and not KG/Kg/KGS etc)).

..."get yourself another phone"...

Yes, I wish I'd got an iPhone rather than the HERO. I find the android interface unnecessarily complicated and clumsy. It wouldn't be too bad if I knew the OS was going to be updated to v2.2 then the tethering issue would be solved.
Thanks,
Rich

I understand. People using the incorrect units completely tick me off. Especially in the UK- as broadband speeds are often advertised in MB.

I hope I get my tracking number from DHL today!

Apple Store Liverpool One

Hey guys, I thought I'd just share my iPad buying experience today at the Liverpool One Apple Store.

I got to the store at 9:05 (25mins before opening time) and there were already 5 people in line. Very quickly the queue filled up (I believe most of the people in the queue intended to buy an iPad and sell online) and by the time the store opened I'd say there were over 40 people in line.

The store employees announced to there were only WiFi iPads available today, so most of the queue left (about 20 people, most were the ones I believed intended to resell their iPads). When I got inside I asked for a 64gb White WiFi only, unfortuanatly their were no 64gb models in stock (White or black), so I asked about a 32gb model, which they did have in stock. I believe they had stock of 16gb & 32gb models in both White and black, but I'm not 100% sure. After they got my iPad out the back & I chose I smart cover, I paid and went upstairs for setup.

Out of the queue of 40 people, I saw very few iPads actually get sold, and within 15 minutes of the store opening the queue had completely gone. Like usual I am more than happy with my purchase :D Hopefully somebody finds this article useful, I mainly just wanted to try typing on my iPad (surprising easy!!)

An update to my PCW order.

No delivery tracking email as of yet. I called PCW, and stock has been allocated, but I need to wait for a phone call. Customer Services wouldn't be able to inform me when the phone call would be.

Now I've been told two different things, the latter looks more to be what's happening, given a lack of tracking number.

It probably won't be here on Monday then, as I was informed.

Mine has shipped

Ordered my 32GB WiFi only White iPad 2 on 4/4/11 and got an email tonight from Apple saying it had been shipped today and delivery on or before the 21st April. Just checking tracking info and should get it by the 18th April. Quite pleased because order originally gave an estimated shipping date of 25th April. Decided against buying a 3G iPad because 1. I have Wifi at home 2. I have a MiFi dongle from 3 which emits its own WiFi hotspot and I can use it with any device, not just the iPad. Can't wait for it to arrive!:D

iPad2 arrived today (ordered from Apple site late on launch day). Awesome! Very slight backlight bleed in the bottom right corner which was nonetheless noticeable on the iTunes connect screen. I think I am over it though :) Came with 4.3.1 - hopefully the jb won't be too long coming! :D

Think I will return the smart cover though - might get a Cygnett Folio instead from Amazon or see if I can pick one up in town tomorrow.

Smart Cover etc

I ordered the smart cover in orange at the same time I ordered the iPad 2, but that's being shipped tomorrow apparently. I ordered the camera connector from the Apple Store tonight - free postage too. I'm really excited about this nifty little device.:p

If it's via UPS, go to the UPS Tracking UK site and enter the carrier tracking number. Mine has also shipped today with the same delivery info as yours and it's just left China (local time Saturday 16th), so it has a way to go yet.

Carrier is UPS but no mention at all about it coming from China!

Walked into 3UK in Eldon Square, Newcastle yesterday afternoon. Picked up an iPad 3G 16GB easily. Win.

Love this thing.

With or without contract? Did you try the Apple Store (or anywhere else) first?

I'm gonna try to pick one up on Monday.

Got one today! Black 16GB.

Word is Apple may get some in Monday (Bluewater). First come first served.

Got mine from Curries at Lakeside Retail park. Nice treat as it's my birthday present!

If folk are wanting an iPad from the apple store an don't want to queue us for ages reserve one the night before after 9pm on the apple website. That's what I did, no one had one in Dundee so that night reserved my 16gb wifi White, next day took a wee trip upto Aberdeen, walked and picked it up

Simple as pie

Its such a great piece of kit

As far as I'm aware Apple have stopped the reserve and pick up option for over 5 nights now. I went to the Regent store and was told if you now want one then to come and queue every morning at opening hrs.
