Tried the Apple store in Metrocentre - only had 64gb 3Gs. Tried the Apple store in Eldon Square, and they only had wi-fi models.

Got mine on contract. Figured that I was happy paying the £25 a month for 15gb of usage, and as I'm an existing customer, got the iPad for £199.

Really loving it. Only had a wi-fi first gen, so having constant , instant access is really brilliant.
 
anyone desperate for an ipad2?
i have one that i will sell for retail price.
64gb black 3g, £659 + postage

its been opened and used for about 30mins but i now have a white one instead.
still has the film over the screen etc.
 
According to UPS shipping my iPad has touched down in the UK just a moment ago! I hope this means it'll meet it's expected delivery date of the 18th (which is today UK time.)

Very good going apple to say originally my delivery estimate was the 3rd of May. I did cancel my smart cover though as I felt that was holding it up (it was a merged shipment) so that might've helped some.

does your tracking code end with 24 ? (look for ups ipad hack on google, it lets you see other people tracking codes but you can't do anything else other than see where it it)

No it ends in 90. It says now that it has been sent out for delivery today. Which is awesome, but nobody is going to be in. I work 10am while 7pm, and nobody else is going to be in the house either. If I'd have known today was going to be the day I would have booked the day off just so that I could collect it and sign it. (and waste the day playing around with it of course ;) ) I suppose I could just do the next best thing and book in a half day if there is any available.
 
Apple store in Covent Garden has Wi-Fi models in stock. I walked in there on Thursday evening and walked out with a 64GB.
 
Is there any risk buying an iPad 2 from somewhere else than an Apple Store?

Such as Curry's, Tesco, etc... Any online merchant selling iPad 2 actually. Does is impact the warrant/quality of the product? Can I bring the iPad back to an Apple Store if anything goes wrong even if I did not buy it there?

No experience with iPad but bought my iPhone from carphonescarehouse and when there was a problem I just phoned apple directly. They sent out a replacement immediately with no bother at all.

I bought mine from PC world the day after launch and returned it 6 days later to PC world. The guy said i was the second person returning it because of the light bleed.

Well yea with 3rd parties the warrant likely stops after. A year with apple there is no limit
 
I just placed an order to collect tomorrow from my local John Lewis . Trying my luck second time round.
 
I rang my local Apple Store up today and they have been out of stock for a few days now. But dont know when then next lot will be coming. This could mean that they will be better to no light bleed. He did say that Apple retail HQ is keeping it a secret when they will be getting more in.

He did say to call mid-week. But we all know what that means, ring up every single day.

BTW I did have an iPad2 until I returned it after 3 replacements. And Am dying to get another one.:apple:

Sorry to hear that. I hope I don't end up in the same predicament as you in a few days time.

I'm still awaiting a tracking number. Should be getting one tomorrow, according to a lady at HQ. They've been putting my order as an exchange to try to push me up the queue. She said Paul would be fixing it, but I don't know who Paul it.

Chances of getting a model as messed up as mine is slim, I wouldn't worry.
 
I ordered mine from Orange, and online they said it would be delivered on Wednesday. They even charged me for delivery, with charges varying depending on the date. But it still hasn't been dispatched.

Been saying Order Being Readied For Dispatch for ages now. I wonder if they will dispatch it... anyone had any experience with Orange?

Sold it to my mate who wasn't keen on getting the new version. I bought mine on launch date last year. He just picked it up an hr ago and now for the first time in 12 months im iPadless :(

Now trying to get an iPad 2. Was gonna get one from Comet due to work 10% discount but they seem to be sold out. Called Apple Regent St and Covent Garden but same story.

I have now placed an order from Apple online Black 64gb 3G but est. shipping date is for the 9th May with est delivery 13th May.
