Mine was sent from the US on Monday via USPS. The tracking stopped on Monday after it left Oklahoma on route to destination. Anyone with experience on why the tracking stopped then? Its been 2 days now and I have no idea where my iPad 2 is! I have tried parcelforce and royalmail tracking and nothing. Was hoping to get it Friday as I sold my ipad 1 last week and have been ipadless for a week now and its killing me, didnt realise how much i used it lol.

This what I get:

Mine has not changed since it went International shipping yesterday.
What USPS service did they send it?
Mine was sent Express - priority takes longer.
Mine did say delery 18-21 march so not too concerned yet.

Looks like we are both in the same boat:)

Just a note - yours says international letter!!!!!!!!!!

That is wrong as an ipad would be a parcel NOT a letter and as such not be sent by letter post.

Harsh is an understatement. Until we hear otherwise, it's completely unfounded and somebody needs something else to occupy themselves with for a week or so :)

Dragon Age 2 it is...

it was a tongue in cheek comment tho

Actually that crossed my mind :( should be parcel.

Looks like sent by letter post - did you contact the buyer and ask him about it?

Was it an Ebay purchase?
From a person with good feedback.

Sorry but it looks suspect as an ipad would be too large for the letter service.

Fingers crossed it turns up soon.

if they are to offer pre-orders on friday then there should be something announced tomorrow....fingers crossed. I hope they didn't make a mistake stating pre order on the site. Most of the UK are not exactly close to an Apple store and some 3rd party retailers may only receive a few units.

Guys my iPad is being sent by UPS Express, it was sent Wednesday 16th and will arrive Friday 18th (Guaranteed)

But how is it guaranteed ? Reading this it seems it could get stuck in customs, or UPS will hand it over to another courier who might just suck.

Any thoughts ?

By garnered I presume they mean "as long as everything goes to plan" If customs stop it then delays are inevitable.

Fair do's, I can get swept up into counting the hours/minutes/seconds to something I'm eagerly waiting for too, my comment was as much to myself really :)

First Class Mail International is NOT tracked in the UK.

You can check it out on www.usps.com website under international mail.

It may not arrive for 2-3 weeks. As for it being too big for a letter - it doesn't literally mean a letter - that is just the term used for a certain size of package in the US. Just check out the USPS site. You will probably get a letter from customs asking you to pay tax as well - slowing it down even more.

UPS Express will reach you sooner... how fast? Maybe by Friday. You can track it all the way and it won't go through customs. UPS will clear it without it ever going near customs but they will ask you to pay before they deliver for tax.

I am stuck in that my ipad is in customs and it hasn't left the international depot. My guaranteed date of delivery was Thursday (today) and it isn't going to make that. I have read plenty of horrible threads online making me think my iPad is lost or stolen. Either way it is incredibly slow.

Good news is none of us have lost any money - PayPal and eBay have buyer protection and we can get the money back by opening a claim.

The annoying thing is none of us want the money - we want the iPad!

I intend on making a complaint on Thursday if it hasn't moved by lunchtime as there is no way it takes 2 days AFTER being cleared by customs to get from Coventry to Gatwick which is where my nearest parcel force depot is!

I have a horrible horrible feeling I will be pre-ordering with everyone else or lining up next Friday!

In the meantime everyone please make sure if you get an iPad off eBay it is either sent FedEx or UPS (or USPS Global Express Guaranteed which used FedEx but if you get a retard postal worker they may say that isn't available and you will get stuck with parcel force like me!).

Good Luck!

How will UPS Express contact me to pay for tax before they try to deliver while still getting it to me on the 18th

Which is why I recommended FedEx!

I had 2 phones delivered in the last 3 weeks from the US in 2 days to the UK.

Posted Monday and delivered Wednesday. Amazingly fast. They pre arrange customs so it doesn't get stopped. Awesome.

The first phone was USPS GXG which uses FedEx and then the other was just sent FedEx.

I wish my iPad was shipped Fed Ex - I would have had it on Tuesday.

I can vouch for Fed-Ex. Mine was posted Monday afternoon and arrived yesterday at 9am!

I bought mine from an Amazon.com marketplace seller who sent it via the USPS on Saturday morning to my BundleBox.com address. The good thing about Amazon is that you can use your UK credit card billing address and a USA delivery address to avoid any problems with your credit card company rejecting the transaction.

BundleBox got it on Monday morning, I paid them the shipping and VAT and they forwarded it by Fed Ex that afternoon.

It all went very smoothly.

Is there any idea of when the iPad preorders are going to happen online?

I'm incredibly impatient like most of you, and tend to be auto-F5'ing for a few hours for each launch, waiting for it to say Preorder.

Don't want to be left behind because I didn't know the start.

Not yet, I expect that either tomorrow or over the weekend Apple will announce that pre-orders can be made from Monday. That's *if* pre-orders are going to happen at all.

I was considering a 3G 32GB iPad2 so I'm going to visit my local 3 store and ask if they expect stock in their shops or just online.

I got it from a good feedback ebay guy and hes communicated excellently. He also has had feedback in the last couple of days so I dont think there is a problem there.

Just the not knowing is most annoying, my tracking on usps stops monday and parcelforce has no record. If they said it would be here next wednesday then i could just resign myself to the fact but hey ho.

If pre-orders are happening they have to start within the next couple of days. iPhone 4 went up for pre-order 9 days before release (we're now 9 days away from the 25th) and iPad 1 went up for pre-order May 10th and launched on May 28th (18 Days!)!

So, if its going to happen its got to happen soon!

Like everyone else, I'd love it if there were preorders but I think we're going to follow the same pattern as the US. A combination of short supply and the good PR of queues round the block will mean it's queue up on the day or order online on the day.

I'm sure that the guy is legit as he has communicated with you and given you tracking. His mistake was to not know that his chosen method doesn't track within the UK. You will just have to wait. And realistically it will be at least 2 weeks.

Consider my express USPS mail has taken a week and it was tracked and 'fast'. Yours is not fast and not tracked. If I was you I would buy one next week as I doubt you will get it before it's out here and then return or sell it when it arrives.

As for me my tracking updated at 4am and it has been released with charges. I'm hopeful that it will be I'm the depot tomorrow and then I can collect it although maybe I shouldn't be too optimistic as so far parcel force have been slow as possible and to expect them to get a parcel from coventry to gatwick in one day is probably unrealistic!

As long as I know it will eventually arrive then thats fine. I am no where near an apple store (100+miles) and cant get time off work so thats why i went for an american one.

I also had a dent in my ipad 1 so i wanted to sell it sooner rather than later to get a good price, which i did. £300. 16gb wifi.

I do have a laptop but damn I miss my ipad!

Without the 17:00 nonsense would be good

My iPad 1 also had a slight dent; I got £250 for it on Gumtree, so you did well too.

I'm hoping there are no 17:00 launch times like over the US; I'd much prefer an 8am/9am launch like normal
