Yeah its right next to the M1 !
If it's an early morning launch it'll be fine but traffic can be pretty busy at about 5-7pm.

Can't wait now !!!!
This'll be my first iPad but I have a plethora of apple devices.

i asume parking is free? and the store is indoors?

so you have to queue outisde the entrance to the mall? or will the doors be open for you to queue outside the apple store?

I'm going their for the iPad 2 store, What do you think the line will the be like?

As long as you're willing to head down early and queue (or happy to arrive a bit later and que up as normal) then the actual process will be fine, that I have no doubt. The Liverpool ONE store always seems to be pretty efficient and know what they're doing. My only doubts would be purely down to stock levels, hence why I'll get there at silly o'clock

Unsure as to wether the mall will open early - sure it'll depend on wether it's a 7am/9am/5pm launch.

So they were selling iPhones BEFORE Apple were? Huh. I can't imagine Apple would be too pleased about that.

I presume he means the Liverpool One mall opens at 7 to allow people to queue. The Apple Store's don't open for business that early usually... which is what I said above.

Scrub that... just looked at my Facebook history and the Bullring store opened at 7 too. In my defence I was high on prescription painkillers at the time. Seriously!

:( I just wish I could pre-order mines and then forget about it till I get a ring at the door from the post man. Now I'm going to have to either queue up (never queued for any tech product in my life) or stay up till midnight to order one online.

I think my strategy is going to be: stay up till midnight and order online from apple, check the Argos website to see if my local Argos has my model of iPad in store and reserve one then cancel apple order once I've got it in hand. If Argos doesn't have one in store then after work walk in to John Lewis/hmv/apple store to see if they have any though I doubt it. Could get in early on Friday to queue up at the Glasgow apple store hmm... How early are you guys going to go in the morning to queue up?

Call me old fashioned but it would be good to just be able to place an order online and have it delivered on the day of release without having to travel to another town and queue up. I can understand why Apple do this to try and make it some kind of event thing, but back in the real world it can be a pain in the a*&e if you have other things like work & childcare to consider.

Remember you always have the option of waiting a few weeks/months for all the craziness to fade away. Then you could just walk into a store and buy one with no queuing!

We are bound to find out some information from Apple today... a week to go!

It would make sense but pre-orders are looking unlikely tbh

I think so too. I guess it's possible that Apple could announce pre-orders today with them starting Monday maybe but I don't think it's going to happen.

I wouldn't be surprised if Apple just suddenly went, "Right, pre-orders are open now!" with no prior warning.

Just for the giggles..

The wait is killing me. if I KNEW I would have one on 25/4/2011 the wait would not be to bad, but its the 'uncertainity', the knowing it could be anytime from next week to 25/5/2011 thats driving me insane.

I guess it's possible but they usually send out emails or have some kind of notice to drum up interest... I guess after the way the US lanch was handled anything is possible though.

I was kinda expecting an email this morning from them when I woke up, being a week away, then preorders in a few days. Apparently not.

PCWorld also offered a notification of when they're going to start preorders. No word from them yet.

I was thinking 9AM was when Pre-orders were gonna go live if they were happening. Maybe there is still hope for 10?

maybe they will issue a statement later today to say pre-orders start on monday at 9am?

I'd be very surprised if Apple say anything till the last minute. I can't believe a brand new product that has been released in the US is already out of stock for 4-5 weeks its only been a week. You'd think Apple would plan for all this but I think they just wanna create the long lines at launch time.

I think demand was way way more than anyone expected.

Analyst predictions, which probably wern't too far from Apple's predictions seemed to be around 600,000 for the weekend and that was considered optomistic. Reports are estimated now to be around 1,000,000 sold on that weekend.

If things went according to the estimates, they would have sold 600,00 first weekend and still had stock for the follwoing week with shipments slowly trickling in.

Sometimes you just can't plan for everything.
