u guys know how much r we goin to be charged (tax) if we ship it from US to UK?? for example 16GB wifi model which cost $499~ how much does it cost when it reach UK exclude the shipping fees?? ^^
I'll buy mine when I'm over in the US next week - 32GB sneaks in at just under £400 with current x-rates and state tax. On top of that, I'll run it through my business as a expense so that I don't have to pay corporation tax on that £400, so the net cost to myself is effectively £320.You pay 20% VAT, so plus $100

Good luck with what, walking into a store on the afternoon of launch and walking out with one in hand?![]()
Aye, I looked at the figures and also will be putting it through my business to make it even cheaper.Even with Sales tax and current exchange it will still be 90 quid cheaper then UK if you are actually in US to pick one up in person!!!! Thats assuming the UK prices will be the same as iPad 1 launch!

Guys, I have a feeling the 3G models of the iPad 2 will not work in the UK. I have been looking closely at http://www.apple.com/ipad/3g/ and it seems to suggest No Sim is needed and that everything is on board so to speak.
Can anyone confirm this?

Excuse me? I only speak English fluently, with French, German and Russian to lesser degrees.I dun think travelers nid to pay tax for tat...![]()
Wrong. If it gets stung for tax, you will pay an import duty and then VAT on top of the $499 plus import. You pay 20% VAT, so plus $100

WRONG. iPads are duty free items. And what does "plus import" mean??
WRONG. They're only duty free at the duty free shops. This is an import from an economic zone, and is thus not duty free, sales tax exists at the originating state.

WRONG. Do you STILL not understand the difference between duty and tax?
Unless it's changed for the iPad 2, I suggest you look here:

You'll pay sales tax in the US and VAT in the UK but NOT duty.
Do I hear an apology?![]()
