Wish I had one already! Will most likely go to the Regent Street Apple store or Covent Garden on friday. Hoping for minimal queues
Being the two largest Apple Stores in the country, I would imagine they'd have the longest queues
Think I'm gonna wait till the end of the month and see if I can pick one up in Boston

I just called Comet and whizzed into my local store 10 seconds round the corner to make a paid order for my iPad 2. They can do this because they actually order in the stock.
So I will have my iPad 2 on Friday at 5:30

This is showing which stores (not locations, just where people are hoping to go) are most popular and also what times are popular for people going to queue on Friday. Don't forget, anyone in Croydon going to Purley Way on Friday, fill in and montior the forms here for live on the day queue/model being purchased results.
The Cabot Circus one is a Curry's.digital (do they still call it that?) so it's small and probably won't have a lot of stock. Besides I haven't got time to go until Friday so I'll just take my chances with the Cribbs Apple Store, could be an adventure!

No, the way I got it explained was that there is certain allocated stock for Comet as a company and then the stores have to order it in from that stock. My local store had 3 16GB's allocated. For example, I walked in and a staff member had bought one iPad 2 16GB, I got the second one and the third was bought by my friend that I phoned up. Therefore that allocation of 16GB has now gone, however there was a bigger allocation of 32GB and 64GB. The delivery will be at the Comet store on Thursday evening and collection is at 5PM.
My comet have reserved the ones i want so if they receive them he'll call me friday morning so i can come collect at 5....

The SKU is 711608 as far as I am aware. I phoned the call centre and asked to be put through to my local branch. I asked about stock availability and he said to come in now and he could order me one.
Thats what i guessed was going to happen, most non apple places going going to get a limited number of units - in the 3-4.
Theres over 700 argos stores, so if each one gets two of each model then across the country thats close to 8,000 units (and thats only 2 per store per model), When you start adding in car phone warehouse, John Lewis, PC World, HMV etc then the numbers soon add up. When you inclide the other countries then they go up even more.
I'm assuming that most units will go to Apple Store and Resellers. Apple will want youto buy there product from thee nice shiny shops with the big line outside.
But i know nothing..
