iPad 2 UK Thread

As said above. That list is only the stores that have an Apple Shop in Shop.

I think most stores will be getting them, and will be in keeping with Apple's 5pm launch.
 
That pc world list is just a list of stores with an apple section. Coventry isn't in the pc world list but is on the currys list.

I think the lists are old, Coventry have an apple section, so should stock it
 
This thread really started to worry me earlier because I paid my £399 for my new iPad 2 Black 16GB. Some people think I may not get it, but I do have an order number, collection date and my receipt. The store definitely knew how much stock they were getting in and even went as far to say they were getting it on Thursday evening.

I don't think it is possible that unless there is a delivery issue, that I won't get my iPad 2 on Friday and 5PM with my receipt from the Customer Services desk.

Do any of you agree/disagree and if so state reasons?
 
glad norway had preorders for the ipad 2 on the 11th of march, 2nd in line on preorders, getting my ipad 2 on friday :D

You have all of the paperwork so I can't see why there would be be a problem. I'm just surprised that they are permitting pre-orders. I'll check the New Malden currys tomorrow to see if they will let me pre-order one aswell. Fingers crossed.

If you can get there early enough I'd go for an Apple Store. It's always risky relying on third party retailers.

We have two Apple Stores in Bristol so hopefully that will help reduce the queues at both!
 
Is the only place to buy a subsidised one on Orange with 2 year contract the Orange Shop?

I'm gonna ask KRCS on Twitter how much they think they'll get. I just don't fancy queuing there cos I'm socially awkward and a lot of people go past there.

i tryed to do what you had done this evening around 18:30 and was told by the manager that they couldn't do it even thou he want to because they had no idea what stock they were getting this was after he had took my number and rang there warehouse and headoffice and then rang me back. just hope its an area thing only time will tell hope you get your ipad on friday

I think you will be fine, I've done the same as you but only paid a deposit. Don't worry you will get your ipad 2 I'm sure.

I rang the Rugby store, they said they would have them but to ring tomorrow to check exact numbers...

The earliest I can get to Rugby is 5:00pm. I didn't think I'd have any competition even if there were any in stock! ;)

Sure, just checked my timetable, might not make it tomorrow actually - but if I do I'll let you know. I'm split between the New Malden Currys and Kingston Apple Store now. Hmmm

At the risk of being burned at the stake for obvious reasons I sold my 3Gs last week and bought an Android phone for the simple reason I can teher to my hopefully soon to be received Ipad 2 using my unlimited data contract with O2 I had for the Iphone.

Already got my holiday booked off work on Fri, Apple Store here I come........

that currys and pc world list is wrong, they are the only apple retail stores within currys/pcworld, i work at currys/pcworld and today we got an note on our system saying all about the ipad release, it will be released in the stores at 5pm and wont be sold any earlier, due to apple being apple and also on the note was the full list of all the currys and pc world stores which are getting the ipad 2 on release day, i dont have the full list here but if anyone wants to no which stores in the yorkshire area will be getting some just ask me because they are the only ones i can tell you lol, very long list you see lol. :)

That's good you got that deal. Unfortunately unlimited data contracts are hard to come by on the iphone.

I sort of presumed that, but I'll try anyway. I just wish Tesco stocked iPads. I remember when HALO 2 came out, wasn't supposed to be released until midnight, Tesco sold me one at half seven :) they just had HALO 2 on the shelf. Apparently by about 8 they were completely sold out!

I can remember the days of iPhone one and it was hard to find a contract that wasn't unlimited.

But then again it took a month to download a webpage on Edge. :)
 
Yeah, I've had it over a year now and from what I've heard they no longer offer the unlimited deal anymore. I actually thought they'd reduce it after my first year was up but they never have.

Could you tell me which ones in yorkshire? Any around/near Hull?

the only ones i can remember that are being sold on release are ;
leeds white rose
leeds high street
pcworld leeds
leeds birstall
meadowhall
trafford centre
and i think they might have been one in hull but im not 100% sure, also i think dewsbury was on that list, if you want full confirmation just pop into your local store and they should be able to tell you if anywhere close will be stocking it, my store isnt and yet we stock the current ipad :S
