should you be posting their details online?

they might get a deluge of calls now

I got it by emailing them from the website and the number is freely availiable on the net, it is not a DDI to Isla either and as she states, it will not be her who will contact, it is usually the Aylesford DC (or other depending on where it went into) that will contact customers directly.

Stupid question I know but what's jl@home?

John Lewis Partnership stores :)

Reading this thread, it looks as if a 1am online buy might be the best thing, then head down to the Apple Store later on to queue. At least the online purchase will give you a good indication of the delivery time, though with Saturday in the way, it might not be until Monday at the earliest before the iPad 2 arrives at homes.

You should be so lucky!!! They're supposed to be dispatching from China, your looking at up to 8 days for delivery apparently. Don't expect it to turn up until Wednesday – Tuesday if you're very lucky – at the absolute earliest

John Lewis.

Planning to be at the Belfast Apple Store just after 2pm, I want to be fairly close to the front of the line.

Black 16GB for me with Black Leather Smart Cover, I have never needed the 32GB on my iPad 1.

Argh! Thanks, I didn't realise. Might have to keep popping out of work then to check on queue sizes. 3PM at the latest, maybe before that if things are getting busy.

I only have 2 days to decide if I'm buying a 32gb wifi or 3G iPad 2. Currently favouring the 3G but not sure it's really worth £100 more. Tethering to my iPhone 4 is a alternative idea.

John Lewis at Home are stores which have "everything for the home", furniture, white goods, electricals but don't have clothes/food court etc. like regular John Lewis stores, they are normally smaller and are rolling out to areas where it is not currently viable to set up a full JL store.

Just get a 3MiFi, it's alot cheaper and you can use it whenever you want , cheaper than paying per month if your not going to use it alot

Can anyone confirm if Apple stores will be accepting cash on the day?
I've been saving... Or will I have to bank it and use my debit card??

i was told yady when i rang up the trafford centre apple store that it will be card only, as it will help apple make sure that each customer only buys 2 ipads max on friday by tracking card transactions, places like currys & pcworld are doing the same and its only one ipad per customer.

if you want two make sure you take a friend with money in the bank!

Anyone know the price of the HDMI adaptor? Just looked at the link posted above but didn't see any mention of it, unless I just missed it.

Good tip, £71.99 for the MiFi with 3gb data to be used within 3 months. Also the added benefit that I can use it with my MBP or any other wifi device I may own.

I'm hopefully going to head down to the Bristol Cabot Circus Apple store on Friday, but I'm not free until after 3pm so I'll see what the situation is like about 3.30 or 4ish.

I'm hoping the stock situation will be fine, my reasons being any Apple fan most likely got the original iPad, and from what I've heard from such owners, only a small minority are keen to upgrade to iPad 2; most are holding out for iPad 3. The only thing that could sway it is people like me who will be new to the iPad game.

Anyhow, I'm hoping to get my hands on a 32GB wi-fi only model, undecided yet on black or white but I'm leaning towards white at the moment. Do you think there will be demo models out in the store so we can compare before we buy? The email did seem promising as it says there will be people on hand to help you choose the right model!!

Queue for me on Friday, me thinks :D

As mentioned in the Glasgow Launch Thread:

I have queued nearlyt 8 hours for the Grand Opening of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, so 3-4 hours for the Ipad is next to nothing :D

Would anyone happen to know what iPad comes under for insurance purposes? I'm guessing laptop cover, but could also be general electrical or mobile device instead I suppose.

I have emailed my insurer but I imagine they'll take a while to get back to me!
