Prices were high when the iphone apps came out, then went down quickly and measurably.

In retail and pricing, it is basically IMPOSSIBLE to INCREASE A price but very EASY and rewarding to DECREASE a price to incent customers and gain market share/customers.

I think in a few weeks/month we'll say major drops in pricing for these apps.

I believe they will come down as the install base of iPad units climb. Even the most optimistic estimates have about 500K iPads being sold the first week/weekend. There are already 10's of millions of iPod Touch/iPhones.

I know most of you have probably realised this, but I didn't at first so I thought I'd share for those who are as dumb as me. ;)

I was annoyed that the Universal apps showed the iPhone/iPod Touch screenshots even when you choose the app under the iPad category. But the screenshots are there. If you check a Universal app, there is a button just above the screenshots that lets you see the iPad versions too.

I didn't know that either! And thank you SO much for clearing up the Normal/Universal/iPad App question for me, I am MADDD excited now.

I cannot wait for the iPad 3G!

I saw the iworks app and the Wall Street journal app being heavily previewed on the main page. I can't wait to check out the Wall Street Journal app, not because I am a huge fan of the Wall Street Journal, but it would give me a sense of how nice other newspaper and magazine publications will look.

It's nice! I updated one of my apps, TrackinU, to be universal. It just went on the store this afternoon. When I search for TrackinU, it comes up both under iPhone apps and iPad apps. When you look at the app page, you can see the iPhone screen shots and iPad screen shots. And if a universal app is bought, it downloads and then will sync to both your iPhone and iPad device (if you own both).

Christ, i'll be glad when this iPad launch is over with. Then maybe we'll hear about other things again.

Does Apple even make computers any more?

394 days since the Mac Pro was last updated. No updates on the horizon. Give me a freakin break.

If you're so sick of it, why are you even bothering to post here? Save us your attitude and just shut up. If you don't want to buy an iPad that's fine, but why should we listen to you whine about it when you don't even have any logical arguments against it? No one cares if you don't want the iPad.

Etrade pro ipad!

even the nasdaq stuff too!

Damn anyone knows when the 3G is coming out?

GEOMETRY WARS!!

heh.

I will probably end up spending 100+ bucks just in apps I can see already.

Damn, yet another US-only title then. No abc player in UK either, or Pandora, or even the iWork apps yet.

I wouldn't have ever expected any of those apps other than iWork. All of them are US only services off the iPad so can't see why an application would be any different.

The BBC iPlayer app (looks like its been postponed on all platforms now though) would have been similar UK only as thats the way it is on the website.

Probably the most ironic iPad app ever.

OK I get Pandora, netflix etc, but there apps like Tony Hawk 2 and the new iPad version of Command & Conquer. I've just had it confirmed that the iPad Command & Conquer is on the App Store in the US, but we don't have it which I find a bit odd. Hopefully it comes through, as I think that type of game is perfectly suited for the form factor.

ABC Player - Free, eBay for iPad - Free, Magic Piano - $3, Pages - $10, Photobucket - Free, NPR - Free, StarWalk - $3, Marvel Comics - Free, IDW Comics - Free

So far I've been good. I'm thinking about Brushes @ $10.

I bet the comic book apps will be great!!!!!! Hopefully they go back and release some digital version of some of the older comics I enjoyed in the early 80's and 90's when I was a kid!

I'm really liking the look of some of these iPad app's, kinda thinking the iPad might be a good idea after all. Things look's brilliant and all but Plants vs Zombies! haha

Papers and Wolfram|Alpha both universal and both looking really nice in the screenshots. Excellent news on top of the Wolfram|Alpha price-cut.

I'm getting excited now. Roll on April 12th, when my mate flies in to Heathrow!

:)

I'm a bit worried. If it gets released at the end of April in UK, then we should expect preorders real soon, maybe even this weekend. But we have no info on 3G plans, no pricing, nothing on iBooks... And I'm doubly worriedthat the UK site explains we need to go find a carrier ourselves if we want 3G. With all of that unknown, I can't see them puttig it up for preorder in the next few days. I'd really like to know some of this info as it's required in prefer to choose the correct model.

If it's nearly as full featured as the Mac app, the price may be worth it. It would be nice to give a discount to owners of the Mac app.

I didn't think I wanted an iPad until I saw this app and another web page wireframing app - I absolutely hate doing Visio-type work with a mouse and keyboard, no matter how good the underlying software is. The idea of going directly from my brain to my fingertips really intrigues me.

Definitely a good point. I just think Omni will find they will sell many many more copies at a price point like $19.99. But if it is truly full featured, stencils and all, I can see the potential purchase. I tend to build diagrams during meetings, while the ideas are fresh. This would be even better. Man, computing has changed ... FOREVER! LOVE IT!

Which Wireframe app did you find?

Not at all happy with the fact iWorks is missing from the UK store. Any chance of them appearing within the next couple of weeks or are those with iPads shipped from America getting the old :p from Apple?

Funny how all the "missing" features complaints are being buried under all the apps and media the Ipad CAN run on Launch Day, eh?

If this is the basement, how high is the ceiling?
