Not quite news sorry but seems CEX (high street and web chain) are as desperate to get their hands on the iPad as us. Took this (poor) pic yesterday. No doubt they will add £200 on to those prices as their selling price.

USPS deliver to the UK with Fedex. Why are you saying it doesn't add up? My auction ended at $609 and P&P is costing $31. The guy over in the US is making a nice $110 profit and im paying about £420 depending on the exchange rate.

You could have saved potentially £50 at least by using BundleBox, but I've used maximum value settings, so that could increase by a further £30.

I won't look at the math further today, since I've already got some math to do with regards to A Levels.

I got lucky today. My girlfriend was in Sacramento (she is American) for the next 10 days or so and she managed to get me a 64gb iPad today and she managed to get another she wants me to sell over here. Her Mum was with her so she managed to get the extra as there was 2 of them.
Cex paying that much for them is really really suprising.

I wonder if the device has sold as well as Apple hoped... there doesn't seem to be as many people rushing out to buy it but it's still early days. It at least gives me a glimmer of hope that our own launch won't be put back any further.

I disagree about not many people buying it. It came out today and it has already sold hundreds of thousands. We have national TV stations in other countries with reporters filming the queues of people waiting to get their hands on one. And as people see them in person and hear about them from other people, they will get even more popular.

Well I did acknowledge that it was early days, I fully expect Apple to sell many more units. This is more a case of me trying to convince myself that US demand won't go through the roof subsequently effecting international stock.

Don't expect major uptake until after the first price drop, at this stage I just hope there's enough to meet demand, in many US states there are not.

Quite - I was pretty worried that a crazy opening sales weekend in the US would mean the 'late April' estimate would move back (again). Seems things are steady, apart from the big flagship stores, so us early adopters this side of the pond might actually get our hands on one sometime soon.

Jeez.. they really could have taken the edge off by at least announcing the release date for us today..

Think they may have been gauging to demand for them so they can judge anticipated stock levels.
If demand is that high in the US I would expect to not see the release dates for the rest of the world published too soon.

At this stage one should not depend on the other, the International launch, if Apple ever did intend to stick by it's second announcement of a late April release, should have been set in stone weeks ago.

I definatley think you need to do some further maths work! I dont see how going with Bundlebox would have saved me £50... Bundlebox themselves even quote the following:

"The 16GB WiFi version will cost £465.20"... I've paid £420 with a chance of VAT on top...making it about the same.

Andre told me to disregard that, and that I could pay £328.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_1_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7E18 Safari/528.16)

Think I'll wait till Tuesday morning then if we still have no news of date or price I'm going to start the wheels in motion to get one from the states!
I'm mistified as to why apple are holding back on us they know the price and date by now come on!!

Assuming the US post offices are open on Monday mine will be winging its way to me tomorrow, hopefully arriving at my work place by the end of the week.

I'll have a play with it and to be honest I may decide the 3G would be a better option, in which case it will be going on to eBay UK.

I wonder if Apple will announce european prices on Monday? It's not a bank holiday all over Europe.

Just watched the video of some Yank ******** & his "bro's" smashing an iPad in that other thread..... I still haven't calmed down lol.
Have been watching some unboxings, accessory reviews etc on YouTube this morning, now I want one more than ever.

The "reserve and collect" option seemed to work really well in the States yesterday, if we get that choice here then I might do that. My 'local' Apple Store is almost 100 miles away, but I think it could be a cool morning out to do that at the "end of April"**.

Seriously, hope we get some more news in the next couple of days. Stay strong, people of the UK. We are almost there.

**sure, Apple.
