iPad mini iPad mini Pre-order thread (Canada and U.S.)

For those wondering I got my iPad mini shipping info. Go to FedEx.com, track by reference number and put the phone number of the apple account you ordered from. Interesting that it says the item is coming from Pennsylvania.

Tempted to preorder and use my "CODE" for savings. I would have to wait 2 weeks but will pick up a mini from bestbuy with 45day reward zone return policy and just keep the mini from apple direct. Not sure if this is just an impulse buy or if I should sleep it over.

No. If you bought a cover and an iPad Mini/iPad 4 at the same time you will get your cover a few days before the mini. The iPad Mini was a pre-order and will be held by the shipping company until 11/2. But the Mini Cover was NOT a pre-order. Mine is scheduled for delivery on 10/30.
 
16GB White iPad Mini ordered from apple.com at 12:01pst says "Preparing for Shipment" at Apple website, but search by reference at ups.com reveals:

Scheduled Delivery:
Friday, 11/02/2012, By End of Day

Have to wait until 11/23 for my 64GB Black iPad Mini+Cellular. :)

How do you "search by reference" at UPS.com? There are no order numbers on apple.com

Go to UPS.com > Click Tracking link > Click "Track by Reference #" > Put in the Billing Phone # for the Reference # (with area code, no hyphens) and your country and zip code... If it doesn't work at UPS try the same thing at fedex.com.

iPad mini is in China! Whoohoo! It was scanned at 1:26am today.

It showed up for me. Do the same thing on Fed Ex. It may be coming through Fed Ex. One of my orders is coming from Fed Ex and the other is coming from UPS.

My support page doesn't have anything on it for mini iPad or iPad (third generation) for that matter and I ordered that months ago. However, the iPhone 5 is there.
 
32GB Black/Slate iPad mini still "Waiting for Shipment" in the US here, eager to see this thing has shipped...
 
Damn... all Wi-Fi models, both black and white, are showing "2 weeks to ship"... should have pulled the trigger!

Still processing,delivers november 21st :mad:,after ordering at 2AM the day preorders went live.Smart Cover shipped though.
 
My 16GB Slate/Black is preparing for shipment. And I checked my Support Page and the Mini is already added with the serial number :)

my Mini is preparing for shipment. Ordered at 3am on the 26th so right when they were available to preorder. You'll probably get yours on the 3-6. Early preorders will more than likely be the ones with the Nov. 2 delivery.
 
My billing number works for a reference on ups Canada, however it links to the tracking for my Smart Cover and not mini. Fail.
 
Strange. I ordered a 16GB Black Mini on the afternoon of the 26th, with a delivery date of 11/2. I also ordered a second unit, which is a 32GB Black Mini on the morning of the 27th, for delivery on 11/2.

The 16GB ordered on the 26th still says processing order.
The 32GB ordered on the 27th says preparing for shipping.
Both still show a 11/2 delivery date, though.

How strange is that? You'd think the earlier order would be in preparing for shipping status first.

Maybe the "status" don't really make a difference until it actually says "Shipped"?

Strangely, I just did a search on FedEx.com and UPS.Com, and I got a hit on UPS using the phone number associated with my Apple ID. It shows a package went from China, to Japan, and is now sitting in Anchorage, Alaska, with a delivery date of 11/2. So, apparently, the statuses must not mean much. Problem is, I have no idea which order it is! I can assume it's the 32GB, since that one is already in Ready for Shipping, but who knows.

What else is odd, is on the Apple order page, it says the 26th ordered 16GB is using something called "Event Shipping", and the 27th ordered 32GB is using "Standard Shipping".
