iPad mini iPad Mini Retina Apple.com order thread [MERGED]

My 16G WiFi order status is still "preparing to ship" but on my fedex tracking manager I just found a new shipment from Foxconn HG Tech Park in Shenzhen China which was just picked up and is set for Fri 11/15 delivery to So Fla.

Suspect this is why orders are not cancelable and delivery dates appear so late. They are shipping direct from factory in China

Nice tip. Just checked and my case is showing shipping from Tennessee, but no iPad mini yet. Still think I'll get a notice overnight.

How do you know your fedex tracking #

What did you say? I called and mentioned that I forgot to upgrade shipping speed (which is true) but the guy just politely said, 'too bad, bud'

You need to create a free FedEx account, and enter your address, phone number, etc. Then it will tell you what you have coming..

Mine says it's coming in Friday as well. ;)

Thanks for the info. I created fedex account and no luck for me, dont see any in the list.

I said that I wanted to upgrade shipping, and the rep said she would do it for free.

Then I called back and asked if I could order AppleCare+, they said I would have to cancel my original order and purchase it with the iPad. I had them do that and split it across two credit cards, and the rep said because we had to jump thru hoops to add AppleCare+ that he would comp me the Smart Cover that I had ordered. Then he comped me the 2-3 day shipping again.

I'm a happy customer.
 
Just received shipment notification email from apple.com. shipping from China and will be delivered on Friday. sweet:D
 
Just got my shipment notification too, but I have to wait until the 18th. At least it's 2 days faster than the original expected delivery date.

I got neither. Was very excited to read this so I called and was 1) told that because my ipad mini had 'prepared for shipment', that we had missed the window to upgrade my shipping and 2) lectured that nov 20 isn't that far away and to just be patient. That it will 'probably' get there quicker than that and not to be so anxious..I will get it in due time.

Ugh. Everyone else always seem to get the upgrades.:D

The one I ordered for shipment is already preparing for shipment so I can't even cancel that one. Too many iPads! First world problems.

I'm in the same boat, do you think they'll refund us shipping if we paid the extra $10 for expedited?
 
I just got my shipping notification too. Coming from China for delivery to NY on Friday. I ordered at 7:30 AM EST
 
Those of you posting your ipad shipped, can you say whether you got the wifi only or the wifi+cellular? it appears that only the wifi models are shipping at the moment.
 
Received shipment notification as well. Delivery 11/20 to LAX area.

Ordered two units, received two airbill numbers.
 
32GB 3G version (Germany).
ETA Nov 25th - Dec 2nd "with express shipping".

It's my first iPad - yes it took them this long to build a device I wanted enough to buy it immediately :)
