I will be returning my red leather smart cover. It's been getting a little worn around the edges and scratched up, you can really see the scratches on the leather. Doesnt wear very good, ill be returning it for the black.

damn, i just ordered mine 5 minutes ago.... hopefully i wont have the same problem..

If you suffer a scratch on your leather smart cover, try Gliptone Liquid Leather, its a leather restorer and cleaner for leather car interiors, really very good.

I'm sure other makes are available in other markets. :)

So what's the best iPad cover to get? A leather or poly? And what color is the toughest/best?

if I was constantly jamming the ipad in and out of knapsacks, luggage and the like I would order poly, but the colors are a bit non - business, IMO

If I was in a courtroom or business meetings, the navy or black leather would be my choice. In large cap corporate business, dark and conservative is better than flashy....

I plan on running a back and grey smartcover at home and a black portenzo in the corporate scene.

Good points! I'm a construction project manager, so I'm constantly going in and out of meetings.

Just got a black smart cover today, I'll post pics of it on my white iPad later today.

I like the red one, because it's my favorite colour :)
I only received it last night and I can see it scuffing quite easily, there's only a few marks on the leather side.

If they're light scuffs from normal use they seem to fade quickly. Idk what will happen if you really get a deep scrape though.

I purchased the red leather cover 17 days ago. I do not have any scratches on mine all. I take my iPad to work every day. I have the black iPad and it looks great on it. I also have navy leather one but do not like this color on the black iPad as well. Just my personal preference.
