Then pendel 1 type as shown in the image in their website www.pendel.com.au looks the same as this one in dealextreme http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.37410

and the reviews at dealextreme are bad too!

Which DAGI model are people buying? They seem to have more than one that says it works with the iPad and their web site isn't clear as to the differences.
I one I bought is the P005 (as far as I can tell).

The P501 on the Dagi website, which is described as being the new-and-approved version, wasn't listed by anyone on eBay. The packaging doesn't have a model number, and the two pens look exactly alike on the website.

Whether I use the Dagi or the Pogo depends on which one I happen to pick up. I'm still concerned about wear and tear on the Pogo, but so far it's in one piece and functional after some intensive use.

We need a good stylus, if only apple would let apps access the info needed for pressure sensitive writing/drawing.

I just got my Dagi. Isn't anyone concerned about the tip scratching the iPad screen?
The first review I read, by someone who does heavy-duty drawing, reported no problems with scratching. I was a little worried when I first got my Dagi because it does seem like a hard tip, but I've had no problems. The website claims the hardness of the tip is sufficiently below the hardness of the scratch-resistant iPad screen, fwiw.

Whether I use the Dagi or the Pogo still just depends on which one I pick up. The Pogo seems to be getting easier to use as the tip squashes into the shape of my drawing/writing style, but there are times when it's so smushed to one side I'm worried the metal tube is going to scrape the screen.

I haven't tried any other stylus, but I'm very happy with what I have. My drawing with either stylus looks just like my drawing with a regular pen now.

ETA: There's a thread about Pogo-manufacturer Ten One demonstrating pressure sensitivity. I'll have to find it and post the link later--am on the go right now.

edited for contradicting typo.

Anyone with a DAGI care to respond? Still don't know which one to buy or where to get it.
See #132 above.

Purchased mine on eBay for about $10/stylus including shipping to US, less expensive than buying one at a time because I could go in on a pack of 5. I'm keeping two so I'll have a spare in case of misadventure.

was there ever a stylus that actually worked well for handwriting notes?

This is what my handwriting looks like using the Pogo Sketch. (Art is still a little wonky looking, but improving with practice.) Of course, this writing was done in a drawing app, not a note-taking app, and I have no experience with any of the apps specifically for handwriting.

It took me about five of these comic strips to start finding it easy to write. Now it feels very natural, and the Pogo doesn't feel like it's "sticking" on the screen. I haven't gotten the hang of writing with the Dagi, which I've only used for drawing.

I'd have attached just a writing sample instead of the link to a comic, but...is there any way to do that from an iPad?

This looks pretty interesting, taking some of the Dagi "see through" idea but letting you hold the stylus at any angle. No pricing or availability info yet. I've written them and can report back here when I get a reply.

EDIT: I talked to the inventor this morning. He's a jeweler who basically created the example on his site himself. He's tested it with some friends with good results. The big issue now is manufacturing. He's planning on doing a very small run himself initially (he estimated a couple dozen), then gauge reaction/reviews and see if it make sense to contract with a manufacturer. Obviously, the cost for the handmade ones will be significantly higher than the Pogo/Dagi pricepoint, but if he does go into a partnership with a manufacturer subsequently, it will bring the costs down significantly.

He's had quite a bit of interest as his stylus was featured on Engadget, so he's just compiling a waiting list based on emails received and will go down that list as he makes the initial batch.

The Dagi allows you to write at an angle, at least some of the models do from what I have seen.

Your link is interesting yet it doesnt look very professional and you could probably make one from the looks of it. What I like from what I have seen from the Dagi though is that although the drawing surfage is transparent to allow you to see, it has a tiny centered dot much like a crosshair to allow you to focus on and improve on precision.

Well, I've already ordered the Dagi P501 as I thought it was the best of the ones currently available. If the ostylus becomes available, I'll try to do a comparison of the two.

Ditto. According to Dagi, mine shipped today. I'm looking forward to getting it - and hopefully to get some hand-writing practice in before the start of university!

Interesting. And looks even odder than the Dagi. I'll have to remember to check that one out again after he's developed it a bit further.

I haven't experienced any problems with a variety of angles of use with the Dagi, lefty or righty--although there are limitations and the main area of the disk lifts too far off the screen at more extreme angles, so it's more "pen" than "brush." I do find that, depending on how fine a brush you're using and in which app, the red dot might not be precisely at the "pen tip" (a millimeter off a 2px fine line, say), but it's easy to adjust mentally/visually for it. Some angles and directions seem to make the dot be more accurate, which is probable all about parallax....

What about handwriting recognition guys, any news not that?
I file that under "600-pound gorilla, in room." Although there seem to be some apps that claim to do it, I haven't read any reviews. It's not important for my needs, so I have the luxury of shrugging it off, but I do acknowledge that it matters to other people.

There's a Newton on my bookshelf. I'm afraid to look at it... might be like opening a cursed mummy sarcophagus...

Haha true and funny. Well the stevster has claimed that apple still own the best handwritting recognition on the globe but you can't write as fast as you type. I winder if they are ever going to use it, because people, well, they might just prefer to write for a change. I can't believe we ve gone so far in voice recognition, with no training ( I was just using a cheap iPad recorder app that transcribes the message into text for email) and handwriting isn't there yet on apple products.

That said it's not that big a deal to me either although I would love to be able to jot down some notes and have them transcribed on the spot.

Has anyone used the Pogo one as shown in the 1st picture? How do you like it and is it worth the price tag? Also, they ship a case now too with the pen attached to the side - anyone bought this yet? How do you like it?

So what is the best stylus for actualy drawing?, tried the Dagi but not as great as everyone says and thats meant to be better than the pogo sketch?. Anyone help please.
