What exactly are you saying here? That because Apple doesn’t address literally every complaint of every user, no matter how unreasonable, that means they don’t listen to feedback? 🤨

No. That Apple doesn't listen to what people say on MacRumors because MacRumors have been vocally louder on many other issues and it's clear Apple doesn't hear them from MR.

if you're going for portability to do real work, you wouldn't use a 16 inch MacBook Pro or a desktop.
What if you need very powerful performances and wanna use iPad when you don’t need those. Tho the iPad is still powerful enough and can run well multitasking…

So yeah I don’t ask to remove current features but bring back the simple split view/slide over menu

Totally agree - only thing I would ask for though is an Apple-made remote-desktop app for iPad so we can operate our Macs. Like Back to My Mac.

Totally disagree! 👎

If someone prefers the windowed mode, I don’t see why anyone else should decide it shouldn’t exist. People have been complaining about this lack for at least 5–10 years, and now that it’s finally here, many are happy with it.

What really should be brought back is Split View in the classic mode, especially since Apple never removed the classic option from the settings. The most logical solution would be to keep the classic mode exactly as it’s always been, while also leaving the new mode available for those who enjoy it.

That way, everyone can freely choose what they prefer, without it turning into a “one-size-fits-all” decision.

Hilarious you think you can do that work better than a MacBook with Wacom.

Again: Objectively makes zero sense.
I love how a random guy on Macrumour is teaching me how to do my work while i've been in the field for 20 years.

Edit: but to address what matters: multitasking is here and it's not going anywhere, learn to cope I guess...

Overlapping windows makes zero sense on the iPad.

Let iPad be iPad and let Mac be Mac. This is so stupid.

People who want iPad to be a Mac are insufferable. Just buy a Mac.
If you don’t like it don’t use it. You can use either the old mode or the new mode for crying out loud! Unfortunately for now Apple doesn’t make a super thin and light touchscreen Mac so until then we enjoy having the best of both worlds. Apple pushing this forward has lots of knock on benefits like background multitasking for things such as downloads and more and they’ve improved the memory management with swapping to SSD which is also beneficial for single app multitaskers such as yourself that like to swipe between apps.

That seems way more reasonable than somehow merging the iPadOS and macOS platforms. For something still admittedly that niche, I'm usually happy that third-party developers still have the main crack at it.

But you didnt since windowing support has been around for several years via stage manager and even splitview and slide over require apps to conform to flexible width and height designs.

With zero modifications our app supported this new stage manager free mode. With all due respect its a very weak point. Any app built in the past 7 years automatically comes with supporting difference dimensions for windows.

Mac can do that without an issue. Makes the iPad redundant.
No it can't, I use the apple pencil to draw, highlight, notate. If you tell me to use a wacom then there is zero portability. I can't sit outside smoking a nice cigar next to my pool with a mac and wacom tablet.

I literally took my MacBook with my Wacom to Starbucks this morning and worked faster on serious work than an iPad Pro with Pencil. Zero portability is hilarious.

And using Apple Pencil for git issues is ridiculous.

You're out of touch. An extremely large amount of people draw on iPads with Procreate these days. It's one of the most popular art programs around. Not only is the software very high quality, but the cost analysis of what you get is very good.

A drawing tablet with a comparable screen to an iPad will be just as much if not more than an iPad, and cannot be used independently from a computer. Hell, the Wacom my friend had before an iPad was $650 for 60hz and 141 ppi. Compare that to the iPad Air with 60hz/264 ppi and much better color reproduction... And that's not even mentioning the insane driver issues the tablet has consistently had.

For many types of creative work the iPad is just better than a Mac. The reason tech reviewers consistently fail to see this is because almost none of them do work outside of typing and video editing.
