Just cancelled my pre order through att. I’m not even sure I’m going to reorder at this point..... Just not feeling it this year like I have for the past 10.

Update: Ended up ordering a Midnight Green 512 through Best Buy for in store pickup on the 20th. Went with the good ole Next Every Year... That extra $5 was bothering me!

Did anyone’s order status just changed to Back ordered? I just received the second email saying “We’re good to go here are the details” and then I checked the order status and it changed to Back ordered. :/
This usually happens every year. For the past 4 years at some point my order goes into backorder. I checked the site about 20 minutes ago and it is still showing 9/20 for all models and all colors for the Pro Max.

This is the first time I have ever ordered iPhone through AT&T's website. Apple always sends my phone via UPS and about mid-week I am able to have it held for pickup at my local UPS center for Friday morning. How does AT&T ship their launch day phones? If it isn't UPS, does the shipper have the same hold for pickup option?
Att has always shipped via FedEx for me. That works perfect because FedEx delivers around 9:30 to 10:00 AM and it’s usually between 3 to 4 PM for UPS.

At&t has shipped mine with FedEx for the past 4 years. No signature required, but I believe it is up to the discretion of the driver. Fedex will divert it and deliver to a Fedex Office location IF you have a FedEx account and sign up for FedEx Delivery Manager and are approved. iirc, it took about a week or so to be approved for Delivery Manager.

That is the correct state for devices ordered from AT&T at this point. AT&T has not received & entered the devices into the inventory system. It happens this way every year. Apple has to ship the bulk orders to AT&T and the other carriers. These bulk orders will ship at the same time frame as the Apple direct orders from China.

The bulk of the AT&T orders will begin to get tracking numbers late Thursday afternoon with overnight shipping to your address for Friday delivery.

Uff thanks that’s a relief to hear. To the others that asked I ordered the 11 Pro Max 64GB at 7:55am ET after placing the order the system had charged me for a pro Max but the order showed up as a 11 Pro (Non Max) 256GB instead after an hour with customer service and getting transfered to three different departments they said they had to cancel the order and do it again but that their system wouldn’t let them until 24 hours so I just hung up and canceled it myself like at 8:58 ET needless to say it was one super hectic morning.

So this year I decided to finish out my 8 Plus and I’m passing it to my father next Friday. He’s on a 6S Plus and while he doesn’t complain about it, I still wanted to get him into a more recent iPhone (plus I’m gonna use his 6S Plus to trade in alongside my iPad 2018 for the iPad Air). I did the Next Up plan but throughout the day so far I’m thinking there’s a good chance I’ll keep this new iPhone 11 Pro in the family as well — whether my father or bro-in-law will get it. So I might go ahead and take off that $5/month early upgrade fee (which isn’t really early upgrade since you’d still have to pay 3 more payments to upgrade in September 2020 which for me would be $100 on top of the $60/year for the fees just to give them this 11 Pro back, so in essence I’d be paying $660 to use the iPhone 11 Pro for a year). At that point, might as well just keep going for another year even if the iPhone 12 is a revolutionary change. I quite like being on the refined-design upgrade cycle now anyway (iPhone 3GS-4S-5S-6S-8 Plus and now to the 11 Pro).

This is an iPhone I can see myself keeping for 2 or more years. I would have said the same about this 8 Plus that’s plenty fast with a nice screen and camera in its own right, but the 11 Pro will be the same price per month, so it was a no-brainer to go ahead and upgrade.

Is anyone else now feeling they may keep theirs the full term and keep this 11 Pro in the family/sell it off after 2 years?

it was a bit crazy ordered mine through apple as soon as the app was working and got a later delivery. the app would not let me change the phone number so I went to my computer to do my wifes. and I could not do it through apple. so went to att seems I accidentally chose the 30 month for her phone I had to pay 399 to upgrade and they goofed and charged the card I put in and my card on file and I got charged 399 twice. but hers ships on time go figure.

I was curious to see if there was a difference in the pricing between AT&T’s Installment Plan with Next Up (which is what I ordered) vs. AT&T’s Next Every Year offered at Best Buy (and other 3rd party retailers).

I think I did this correctly; To be able to trade my phone in next year after 12 months of payments, which would be half the cost of the phone, it’s cheaper going with AT&T’s newly named Next Up.

Is that correct?

I had major issues with ATT website on my laptop this morning and I ended up going thru apple app, the midnight green had gone to oct 1- oct 4 delivery so i settled for the the gold. I had 2 lines available (1 was with trade in of iPhone XS Max and the other was a full upgrade). I used the line with the phone trade in on apple app ( didn't want to be paying 2 NEXT plan monthly payments at the same time). Upon completing the Apple order, the ATT site starts working properly and was able to order the green one on there using the full upgrade line. So at this point I have 2 phones ordered and only want one...THE GREEN ONE, but I want it to be applied to the ATT line that the phone trade in is linked to. I just checked ATT website and it is still showing green available for Sept 20 delivery.

Should I cancel Apple order, which should free up that line upgrade and then order on ATT?

Or if I keep both orders will ATT be able to straighten it out if I take both phones to an actual store?

Ordered an 11 at 10:30 am. Purple 128g. Receiving 9/20. I had it in my cart earlier and couldn’t decide because I have a XR (dumb right?) but my best friend dropped her phone in the lake and wants to buy my xr so it was worth it to me.

You’re comparing 24 payments to 30 payments.

Bestbuy.com is still showing launch day pickup for pretty much all versions at all locations..something isn’t right. Maybe I’m just looking into to much.

Question for the AT&T folk.
I pre-ordered my 11 Pro 512 green this morning at 8:00 with the Apple upgrade program, did not do the lost/theft option with AppleCare and it came out to be $64.50/month.
Am I able to do any better with AT&T including the $9.99 option for AppleCare? I don’t HAVE to have my phone on the 20th, I literally impulse bought it this morning when i was getting ready for work.
I wasn’t sure if there were any promos going on with AT&T or not so that’s the reason for my questions. I’ve seen 5 different prices yesterday (with trade, without trade, with Apple non-upgrade every 12 program, AT&T’s) and my head was spinning so I opened the apple store app at 8 and just did what I did.
Thanks in advance.

Does anyone know if you can enroll in the iPhone Upgrade Program through Apple using an at&t line that still has a Next balance on it, but without paying that balance off?

Asking because my wife's phone was purchased last year using an available upgrade on my phone number. Hoping to just use my phone number to enroll in the IUP without having to also pay off her Next balance.
Last time I attempted to use AT&T for pre-ordering my iPhone X it was a disaster! I pre-ordered it the hour they opened pre-orders up, waited over 6 weeks with no shipping info, canceled the pre-order and walked into an Apple store and got my phone. This time I am going with the Apple iPhone Upgrade Program and bypassing AT&T all together.

I was sent a 64GB X. The order was for the 256.
ATT told me 6 weeks. I went to a corporate store to return it and have my upgrade status reset.
NIGHTMARE all around.
I paid the 8+ off and went to the apple store and enrolled in the IUP. I promised myself never to go through ATT for any hardware purchase again.

Silly question, but want to confirm. Ordering online via ATT site to qualify for the $300.00 I would need to be adding a new line not just upgrading my current line. I only have myself on there. Silly me I didn't enroll in the Next program and trying to balance fees.

Anyone know if as a new customer, preorder 2 iPhone 11 and also order 2 iPhone 8, will they start my service when the first phone arrives? I assume the iPhone 8 will beat my iPhone 11 to my house.

This is seriously my favorite time of year! Planning on going with the iPhone 11 128 in purple this year

Same here but I opted for the 256gb in purple. I normally go for the largest form factor but honestly, after seeing my kid's Xr's last year I started leaning in that direction. When the leaks came out indicating a dual camera I was pretty much sold.

I would suspect the 8's would ship almost immediately but will probably only beat the others by a couple of days if you ordered early enough in the day to get a 9/20 delivery date. They'll start your service once you activate the phones. 1st month will be pro-rated anyway.

Brought my iPhone Pro Max 256GB Midnight Green through ATT FirstNet and got a deliver date of 9/19/2019. and that is a 15:55 order time.

Had to have my 11 Pro Max 256GB Space Gray canceled cause of AT&T's shoddy system, was able to do another preorder for the same thing with 9/19 shipping date. I guess AT&T had a lot of phones available, checking Apple's stock and they don't ship out til Oct. 7-11

If we are bringing 4 iPhone X’s from Verizon and go through Best Buy for Next Every Year, we can get BOGO... so pay for two phones and get two free? Then we can get $400 off each with the iPhone X trade ins? How would that work.

I feel like perhaps you'd have to do all that in store, but I don't know.
