I went back and cancelled my order through AT&T and then ordered it through Best Buy. Still got 9/20 delivery day for iPhone 11 Pro Max Space Gray 256 GB
Why cancel and go through Best Buy/Apple? Because they still have the 24 month plan?

Also was the cancel and ordering easy? Didn't glitch saying you need upgrade, etc...

Not a glitch. According to the AT&T FAQ for their Installment Plans with Next Up:

“The AT&T Next® and AT&T Next Every Year® Plans are being discontinued and are available only from select non-AT&T dealers for only a limited time.”
So, I ordered from AT&T. Could I cancel and order from Apple using the AT&T option?

Is the only benefit to Apple's upgrade program that they handle the trade-in for you and you acn upgrade every 12 months vs. 30 for AT&T? Plus with AT&T you have to go find someone to buy the phone if you want to sell it. Apple gives you $400 for an Apple X which is pretty good value.

Ordered a 512GB iPhone 11 Pro Max in Silver through the AT&T phone app. No issues. Order placed at 6:25 AM PT. Order status was originally showing September 19th for delivery but now it’s showing September 20th. Haha.

Normally I pre-order through Apple.com, but this year I forgot to set an alarm for 5 AM, woke up a little later and placed my order. Luckily it’s still showing delivery for launch day. Apple.com dates were already slipping when I went to order so that’s why I went through AT&T this time.

Just have one question, for anyone who has ordered through AT&T’s phone app or website in the past. Which shipper has your phone been shipped in the past? Just curious. UPS always delivers the earliest to my house. FedEx always comes later.

Thanks!

Just cancelled AT&T order. 30 months and the extra $5 is outrageous. Plus even with the $5 I cant upgrade until January 2021? Otherwise I have to buyout the whole phone, sell it, etc. Huge pain imo. Not sure why they cancelled that 24 month option with ability to trade in after 50% of payments have been made. Then at least it's comparable to Apple's upgrade plan.

does anyone received the "second email" from at&t?

Yes, I just received mine to confirm my new AT&T Next Installment Agreement.

The 24 NEXT option is still there, just with a higher monthly payment. Also you only have to pay 50% of the device to be eligible to trade it in when the next device comes out if you want.

I saw both options this morning, 24 & 30 NEXT plans when I placed my order through the Apple Store app.

The option is available through Apple, Best Buy, Sam's, Costco etc, but the 24 month option is no longer being offered by AT&T.

The past 4 years I have ordered from At&t, every one was delivered by FedEx. Neither At&t, nor FedEx, require a signature, while all the ones straight from Apple are shipped by UPS and require a signature for delivery. That, plus a less congested pre-order are the main reasons I continue ordering from At&t.

In the end if you went thru ATT, you will pay the same, except you will have to pay an extra 62-63 bucks at the 12 month period so you can upgrade again

Damn I don't know if I should cancel my ATT order to get out of the 30 month installment and buy from Apple/Best Buy. But I feel like next year they will change the plans completely anyway.

On Next you will be paying $5 a month that goes into their pocket for the service, AND have to pay off the phone to hit 12 months so not the same.

With NEXT they an extra $5 a month ($60 total by the time you want to upgrade) but none of that goes towards the phone payoff you still would have to do to hit 50%.Corporate greed right there

But still at the 12 month period--you end up paying 624.00 or whatever (half the phone price) so you can upgrade! you do not pay FULL price---what Im I missing here

Not sure why people are freaking out about AT&T? the Next option that allows you to trade in after 12 months is still there. I believe it is still cheaper than Apple's upgrade program if you don't want to forcibly get the Care coverage. What am I missing?!

I ran into so many issues this morning trying to place the order on AT&T's site. Finally was able to place the order around 7:25am CST time. However still no second email

Edit:

Just check the order portal. Delivery date is the 20th
iPhone 11 Pro Max
256gigs
Silver.

not thru the ATT website?
I ordered mine through Apple's website. But I don't think that matters. I am sure ATT website had the option as well. I think they decided to make their pricing scheme a little bit more transparent. You see what you are paying for: the installment amount for 24 plus $5 monthly for upgrade. I think it is still cheaper than Apple's with Care plan that I don't care (pun intended :D)
