I hope people finally start to wake up to the marketing crap Apple pulls with calling its better models “Pro”. Calling a phone Pro might be the final nail that does this, as if calling a monitor stand “Pro” wasn’t already.

I use an iPad “Pro” 10.5”, but there is nothing Pro about it. It’s just a nicer experience than the similar 10.5” Air model, which they deliberately crippled. Because apparently you have to be “Pro” to want better stereo speakers to watch movies and play games. SMH.

All those people using an iPad Mini as a phone were way ahead of their time, they had an iPhone Pro from the future. :p

I must have missed the announcement, what’s it selling for?

Yes, we introduce “iPhone Pro” starting at $399, it is cheaper to the 8 and XR. :p

Pro for a phone? 'Pro' has lost all meaning

It’s meaningless to refer to rumors calling out claims for “iPhone Pro” devices. I googled the word, and it has been happening at least since 2012. I don’t think it’s happening, folks.

looks like ****, very poor design/ergonomics,

anyone know when the SE will restock?

i think the naming scheme should copy mac naming scheme

no stupid numbers just iphone/iphone pro with release year as the only indicator of "new" model

Plus -> Max -> Pro

Jesus, why~?

The only reason I can think of is if it has a big ass battery that lasts for several days of heavy use without charging. You know like the user is an astronaut, deep sea submersible pilot, customer service rep, etc. Someone who does not have access to a charger for long periods or someone who uses the phone remotely so much that the battery does not last.

It'll certainly have to be thicker and not use all that power hungry new tech.

Im so ready...i want 1500$ iphone PROmotion, 6k XDR display with 2000 ppi (in your face Samsung), 16 gb Ram, 512 SSD, faceID, touchID, cokID, hairID , 8 cores with support for final cut
YEah baby , IM READY
???

At the end of the day though I can afford any iPhone model, I chose the XS as my hands are not going to grow to accommodate a larger screen sized phone and I am a believer of a one hand use phone, though the XS screen is pushed that limit a bit, unfortunately Apple makes no smaller size with present generation tech.

Most indications point that 2019 iPhone should be skipped due to lack lustre features and design, hence AppleTV+ to offset the hardware revenue drop.

AW5 is where I am most interested.

I am sure with Pencil support too. :p
There, imo, is a target consumer audience for these phones. Consumers, who may not care about 5G, who are on older phones. The rumored feature set on these phones are fairly nice.

If price is an issue there always are android or other more expensive android models.

A “Pro” phone? Please Apple NO. Do not be that pretentious. Lol. But with the tariff war btwn the US & China heating up, i could actually see Apple doing this, if only to justify raising the price of the new iphone. Just call it a Pro iPhone and jack up the price to cover the loss Apple is taking on tariffs. Sneaky.

Who cares what they call it, this year's phones are DOA anyway.

For once it really is worth waiting for the phone coming out next year, but it too will probably have a triple ugly camera bump and no 3D Touch, unfortunately.

Samsung upped them with 4 cameras at the rear this year on the flagship Note model.
The number of cameras is not as important as what you can do using them. Samsung live video focus and 3D scanning features are very cool. I doubt Apple will show both this year. That means one year (and that’s a lot) behind Samsung and the next year Samsung will show something new. Apple is too slow these days. Same thing is happening with HomePod.

"Pro" names are embarrassing. A challenge to the ego "if you're a serious user you'll buy this phone." "Macbook rich" and "iPhone rich" would be much more dignified.
Alternatively, if I want a serious phone, buy me because I have the "pro" moniker. Either way, imo, I don't think most consumers will pick apart the name as what happens on these forums.

I really don’t want to go back to the days when you had to buy a huge phone to get the best camera... XS and XS Max is how it should be
It's a cycle. This year the models' camera might be differentiated, but after 1 or 2 years, all the iPhone models will have the same camera, just like Xs and XS Max. I'm sure.

Well given in Cook's Apple the definition of "Pro" is fashionista, Instagram influencer or Kardashian wannabe these are "Pro" devices... Pro tools for "Likes"
