Jesus... so many assumptions here. Nobody of you knows whether this rumor is true, nobody knows which features will make it into the phones in the end, nobody knows what the pricing on this thing will be and yet still 90% of the people here already complain as if their phantasy already happened...

And btw, Apple has been very consequent about the "Pro" Label most recently, targeting the professional market, so I highly doubt they're going back to retard mode anytime soon.

Personally I'm not that concerned with the name, but Pro sounds ok to me. It's not going to have any influence on whether or not I buy the device. I'm excited for the reveal even though I'm not expecting anything revolutionary. I anticipate keeping my trusty 8 Plus for at least one further year, but I am sure this year's refreshes will be fantastic phones for those who want to upgrade for whatever reason.

Bring on the keynote! :D

Itt is just the name, they can make it as iPhone Genius but doesn't mean only Genius can buy it and use it... whatever suits them.... Finally, your wallets are being targeted..

They can name it however they want, but honestly I stop caring about the >$1k models. I’m just interested with the 2019 iteration of the XR.

Or either I’ll get the even cheaper iPhone 8 or just replace the battery of my 6s again.

Apple is widely expected to release three new iPhones in the fall, and an anonymous Twitter account with a proven track record has suggested that at least one of the models will have "Pro" in its name, such as "iPhone 11 Pro."

The tweet comes from a mystery account named CoinX, which has accurately leaked several details about upcoming Apple products over the past year, including the names of the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR before anyone else, the removal of the headphone jack on 2018 iPad Pro models, and much more.

CoinX's accurate leak about the 2018 iPhone names:

In this case, CoinX phrases the tweet as a rhetorical question, but the account has a perfect track record so far with all of its leaks:

For what it's worth, MacRumors received the following anonymous tip on August 4: "The square camera iPhone will be called the iPhone 11 Pro. This is fact." It would be a disservice to our readers to simply pass along any unsubstantiated tip we receive, but it is now worth mentioning in light of this tweet.

This could mean the 2019 lineup will include the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro, and perhaps the iPhone 11R, but we still don't know for sure.

Apple is widely expected to unveil three new iPhones next month, including two higher-end 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch OLED models and one lower-end 6.1-inch LCD model. Rumored features include triple-lens rear cameras on the higher-end models, larger batteries, two-way charging of AirPods, and much more.

Read our 2019 iPhones roundup below for a recap of all rumors to date.

Maybe going after the RED Hydrogen One market? With all Apple has been doing with its Shot On An iPhone campaign, they may actually be pondering producing a phone with a best-of-breed camera.

It could also be that all that new VR wizardry could be proving to be too expensive for even its current top of the line (but I doubt that).

Pro perhaps means pencil support

My thought exactly.

Given all the leaked mockups and molds for cases and stuff, shouldn’t we have seen some other, non-rectangular version too by now if they were only for the pro version?
Paired with previous rumors about pencil support, I’d say this is the given interpretation.

(I for one would be interested. I would love a small pad for notes and quick sketches. )

What a joke, that is, if the guy is right.

For those saying the price will go up, doubt it, last year prices where already too high, Apple knows this, I say same as last year Max. , or a bit less.

Im so ready...i want 1500$ iphone PROmotion, 6k XDR display with 2000 ppi (in your face Samsung), 16 gb Ram, 512 SSD, faceID, touchID, cokID, hairID , 8 cores with support for final cut

My problem isn't the use of "Pro". We know it's marketing and has been for a long time. My problem is the use of Pro/Max/Plus and the fact that it's hard to tell them all apart (feel the same about the ambiguous "iPad Air"). Oh well. The naming is not ultimately important.
