iPhone 12 and 12 Pro Users Complain of Missing SMS Text Messages and Message Notifications

@Packers1958 so I tried this and want to make sure I did it right. I downloaded the Messages+ app to my phone. Added my mobile number and turned off iMessages. I waited for some messages to come into the Messages+ app and deleted them (my old messages I got in Apple Messages prior to installing didn't come in). I then deleted the app and turned iMessages back on.

Did I do this correctly? Is there a "turn off" or logout of messages+? I didn't see that option. TIA.

That's all you needed to do. There is no turn off for message+, but you can turn off all Notifications through the iPhone notifications. What you might want to do now, if you have a mac or imac, is downloaded the updated 14.2. You can't download it through the phone, only via itunes on your pc or via the finder window on a mac. I'm not sure waht it fixes, but if Apple sends out an updated 14.2 ios, there has to be a valid reason.

Huge issue for me right now. I received messages from Monday this afternoon. Group message with another iPhone, android yesterday and tons missing. I received a dump of messages around 2am last night that were from Tuesday afternoon. I also received photos today that were sent Monday by a android user. Super frustrating, especially when it looks like I’m not responding.

I contacted support last night about it and was told Apple was aware of an issue and is working on a fix.

update: after getting some sleep I found out why I wasn’t getting notifications on that one group chat. “Hide alerts” was turned on for that chat. 😳 Everything seems to be working for me so far... 12 pro on att.

Apple released 14.2.1 today, addresses the following issues for your iPhone:
-some mms messages may not be received
-made for iPhone hearing devices could have sound quality issues when listening to audio from iphone
-Lock Screen could become unresponsive on iPhone 12 mini
 
I'm pretty sure I just had it happen again after downloading the update. Gotta give it more time though.
 
Ive been on the phone with vz tech and they have no clue. I really wish i would of kept my iphone 10 now. No problems with that for years. I'm having issues receiving texts from android users and missing calls. I just saw the new iphone update 14.2 I hope that helps it.
 
The rep at vz said they have a bunch of tickets about this issue. But no resolution. I'm trying to get the sales on the phone to complain that i've upgraded my plan, to pay more monthly, yet can't get service.
 
I’m now getting notifications and sounds on the lock screen. Seems back to normal.

How is your service. There's folks that said cell service is worse with this new phone. I'm getting only one bar to no service where i used to get good reception.
 
Initial tests look positive - I'm getting notifications for iMessage now on 14.2.1 (I think!), wasn't yesterday on 14.2
