Google searched for this issue. It’s infuriating. It’s like for every 10 messages, a couple get skipped.

So I don’t know what to think of this, but I still had the issue with not getting message notifications after upgrading to 14.2.1, but since last night, I haven’t had the issue once. I’ll keep monitoring but there’s not a way that Apple could have fixed it outside of a software update is there?

you know im not sure if its just me but over the last couple days i think i been getting all my group texts now. I saw Apple released another version of 14.2 update and i dont know if something fixed it but it appears i am now getting them all because i been comparing for the last two days what is in the verizon message+ app and my regular messages app.

Well I had the same issue, updated to 14.2.1 and I am STILL having the same issue. I get messages on my iPad and Mac and they are missing on the iPhone. Restarting doesn't help. The bug persists. Its only messages not SMS text. What's funny is I will see some of them show up on the paired Apple Watch but NOT on the phone.

This is a big problem.

Thank god I'm not the only one with this issue. It has been driving me nuts. Have a group with several iPhones but 2 android devices within the group. They send me daily status's and each day I'm missing some of the responses. Some days I might be missing one or both of the Android messages, and other days it may be from the iOS devices. No consistency. I have a iPhone 12 on Verizon with the latest updates. I downloaded the Verizon Messages+ app and I get all the messages. I was even at a Genius Bar and had them scratching their head.

And I have been having the no notification issue with since iOS 13 with my iPhone XS. Still happening with my 12 Pro with some messages but not all.

Have you tried installing the new iOS 14.2.1 update to see if that helps?

I'm having similar issues, on the lastest update 14.2.1 but no better, as others have stated, audible notifications on Apple Watch series 2 but not on iPhone, might uninstall watch completely to see if it improves things. Seems to be a pattern emerging here.

Just upgraded to the iPhone12 pro from an 8 plus. Activated the phone on November 18, and I do not receive any notifications for any text messages, SMS, iMessage, or email.. I tried apple support l, they advised me to reset the phone to factory settings. Did that, still having the problem.

Me either...just from certain contacts though it seems (who I have happened to have in the same group chats in the past?).
No SMS messages from my neighbors who have Android phones. Also missing SMS messages from businesses that send confirmation codes. Oddly some of them do come though. Not sure why. It is like some are considered blocked even though they aren’t.

Also missing a lot of push notifications.

I’ve been missing calls everyday with my iPhone 12 pro Max. I was alerted that I had a voicemail around 11pm from a call that never showed up at 5pm earlier. I know of 3 more missed calls today that never showed up at all. What’s going on?? I didn’t buy the best most expensive phone on the market to not be able to receive calls! FIX IT APPLE!

Sounds similar to the issue discussed in another thread:

To add to the confusion, according to the sounds and haptics the volume is at full whack. However when I push the volume button on the side of the phone, the volume appears but there is a Red Cross through the ringer icon like it is muted.

Well, that update didn’t do anything. Still not receiving notifications, not only for texts, but seems it’s also an issue with Facebook messenger. Will attempt a full network reset and see what that does.

Yep my messages still aren’t working properly. Sent an iMessage to my friend and it appeared in my messages history initially but then when I went back into the app, it disappeared. When my friend replied, I could see a preview of the message but when I click on it to read it fully, there’s nothing there. Nightmare!

I had a problem with SMS on my 12 Pro Max. There was no contact name on SMS list from one of my contacts even his number is saved. I added his number again in existing contact and then his name appeared in SMS list

This issue isn't limited to the iphone 12 models. I have an 11 pro 256 and have been having this ever since 14.1, it persists with 14.2. I have dealt with too many people at apple to count and they sent a ticket to engineering about it but admitted that have no current fix and they "thought 14.2 would fix the issue but it didn't for everyone". Clearly the only released for 12, 14.2.1 update didn't handle it either.

Add to this that I know multiple other 11 pro users with the same issue and we are looking at generally bad software that is not playing well with some hardware.

There has been no update as of today and a claim that they tried to call me. Either this notification is broken too or they didn't, I was browsing on my phone at the time of the email.

Every new phone release there are some bugs I put up with but this time it has me ready to abandon apple all together. It seems the only reason I have kept it was for the messaging interface. When it doesn't work...why keep going.
