iPhone 12 Apple Leather Case Corners Popping Off: How Common is this Issue?

Correct.

I’m one of the lucky ones who have use the services available to the absolute maximum. If I can use it and I’m parting with my hard earned cash, I bloody well will.
 
After several days of use, I'm having the issue as well with my Saddle Brown case for my mini. The problem seemingly gets worse due to what I'm assuming is the leather starting to "stretch". Baltic Blue case got delivered yesterday so i'm trying it out now as well to see if I have the same experience.

Apple leather cases are just a thin plastic shell/case covered by a thin layer of leather. So it’s unlikely that it’s only the leather stretching.

I’ve had Baltic Blue for longer than that and it’s still tight around the corners.
 
Just to be clear, the only time this issue is apparent is when you are all removing it from your pocket? I just can't imagine the phone coming out. I bought two colors to see which I liked more and return the other and in changing them back and forth, I couldn't believe how tight this case fit. It was almost a struggle to remove it as I am use to removing it or at least getting it started from the bottom corner of previous generations where the cut used to be.
 
Just got my 12 Pro Max Baltic Blue leather case today... this case is TIGHT. like have a bit of issue getting it out tbh.. hopefully that means it won't pop out?

That is not good! I tried to replicate that on my iPhone 12 with BB leather case - eg dropping it face down on a hard table top but for me the case did not pop out. However, the concern is that over time it might loosen up.
 
Hi all, just joined the forums after reading this thread.

It's definitely been an issue for me. I ordered a leather case from Apple to go with my 12 Pro Max and noticed the issue pretty early on when taking the phone out of my pocket. It seems to happen pretty easily by just walking up the stairs with the phone in my jeans pocket.

I returned the case to Apple and ordered another one from Amazon (UK), which is showing the exact same problem; so I am returning this one too. I am trying one more time and if this one (due for delivery today) shows the same issue I'll have to resort to a 3rd party case. This really sucks because I've loved the Apple leather cases on all previous phones. I think I'd rather try an Apple Silicone case before going down the 3rd party route, but I've seen similar reports for this case too?

I can't imagine Apple will invest in refining the design unless this blows up into a bigger story, which I can't see happening.
 
I if I drop the mobile several times like the video, sometimes something comes out of a corner, but normally I do not act like that with the mobile!

Don’t go looking for the problem. If your case does not present this issue under your normal usage why fret over it. For me, mine fits very tight and have yet to run into this problem. Maybe there are bad batches but at the end of the day everyone’s phone usage differs including the way it’s carried so this may be more prominent for others. This forum represents a small subset of consumers so there is no telling how widespread this issue really is.
 
My 3rd attempt has arrived. Just pulled it out of my pocket with the bottom right corner popped out 🙁 Hadn't been doing anything special, just around the house.

Time for me to give up on these I guess.

What are some other good leather cases? Nomad would be a go but I don't like that it is not full leather. Mujjo any good in anyone's opinion?

I have no experience of 3rd party cases as I've never had an issue with all the Apple ones I've used before, however I'm mostly drawn to trying the Nomad case simply because they don't have any branding on the outside. It's pretty much the only other leather case I can find that doesn't have a company name stamped into it somewhere visible, anyone know of any others?

I've given up (for now) and waiting for a (much cheaper) ESR metro leather case to try that out but I did really like the design/style/quality of the Apple case and they age well over time so I may well go back and try again if this corner issue goes away.

It seems to be a design flaw (or a bad batch of cases). I’ve tried 6 (4 leather and 2 silicon on different phones) and everyone has the same issue. I’m disappointed because I love the Apple leather cases. Hoping they can fix this.
 
I just exchanged my clear case for the black leather case and no matter what I do to it, it won’t pop out hopefully it stays this way. One thing i noticed is that unlike the previous leather cases this one doesn’t hug the edges. Which is great because i can swipe from anywhere but it also makes me wonder how is it that they aren’t ALL popping out
 
Also just did a couple of drop test on my bedside table. my saddle brown leather case did not show any of its corners popping out from my iPhone 12, but I can see the possibility of the larger 12 Pro Max size makes this more likely an issue. Also another possibility being the straight edge design of these new iPhone 12 series, compared to previous curved edge where the leather case can wrap around the edges.
