Sometimes a corner of my phone will pop out when taking it out of my pockets. That’s the only time it happens.

Genuinely confused as to why people are surprised this is happening.

There is one single magnet in the middle back of the phone, and there aren’t any really lips on this case like there were in the past. And remember, the 11 pro case snapped on the two bottom corners and didn’t fully cover the bottom so it held on tightly.

There are always sacrifices to be made when trying to make something aesthetically pleasing like Apple always does.

To the people who keep returning and exchanging , please stop being wasteful. This is going to happen, decide whether you’re okay with it or not

My first case from Apple would pop off very easily and had glue marks around the camera. The second one from Amazon stays on much better, so there’s definitely some variation in quality.

Apple is the one being wasteful. They should have better quality check for their products so people don’t have to return them.

Apple focuses on the animation being color matched to the case, yet the case doesn’t stay on the phone. That’s what I call proper attention to the details.

I have the leather case on my 12 ,its doing .I was thinking about the clear case but your saying it does it also ?
Beware of the clear case. My 12/12 Pro sized one has developed stress cracks on the lower corners. I’ve taken it off the 12 Pro to put it on the 12. I think it’s been removed about 8 times due to me changing phones and having to remove it to apply or change screen protectors. I also had two (well-fitting) silicone cases I sometimes used.

My Caudabe Lucid Clears have had fit and finish problems, too. One was great and is on my daughter’s phone now. But the first one I tried to put on her iPhone had a corner that kept popping. I think it put a nasty scratch on the side of her phone either when I was trying to reseat it or during one of its gradual liftings. Caudabe sent a replacement that was also ill fitting. But they’ve compensated me by giving me significant discounts on future orders and refunding the cost of the case. It’s not like they ignored the problem and they had me ship the defective case so they can determine what’s wrong with it. Their customer service was impressive.

My Apple MagSafe clear case is past it’s return period so I’m not sure what my options are. I guess it is still under warranty. I liked the case. But I need to remove it to clean the phone from time to time. I can’t have it cracking already. My Caudabe cases were always months old when they would even show a hint of stressing at the corners.

Contact Apple Support. They will let you return it even outside the window.

It’s happening on my Mini as well, but with the clear MagSafe cover. The bottom left corner won’t stay in properly.

iPhone 12 PRO all cases purchased directly from Apple:

Silicon case - Perfect - Never had a corner pop up. Fits snug (Black)
Leather case - Fairly snug fit, top right corner continuously pops out. Extremely annoying. (Also Black)

I returned the leather case and popod back on the Silicone case. Has been perfect.

It is perfectly snug the first time you put phone in case, it has come off from corner.

So I find that I use the phone more carefully.

constantly checking corners.

I think I will just lose the case this year, I rather if phone is dropped it’s by me and not because it somehow slips out from case. 😂

Maybe a sleeve would help keep your phone safe during transport? And then just use it naked as needed.

Hopefully all ok with my Saddle Brown 12 Pro case which arrived today and appears to lock into place well at each corner, definitely takes a bit of force to unclip each corner.

I have been using the phone naked the last hour.

I have decided to use without a case, feels soooo much better and more secure.

You can even appreciate the bigger screen more it seems.

i like the sena sleeves so it’s a great idea.

Have seen a couple reports of people having to push the phone back in at the corners due to the iPhone 12 Apple leather case popping off. Is this a widespread/design issue? What has been your experience with the leather case? For those that have had the issue did a replacement make a difference?
Initially phone was not popping out. However, after few days it started to pop out of the case in corners. I am disappointed, because otherwise I liked the case. Hopefully there will be quiet redesign in near future.

Man, reading this thread, it sucks. I really wanted to get the yellow leather case. Thanks for the warning guys.

How come this is the only place I've heard about the corners issue? I've seen nothing about it on Amazon or any other reviews.

You’ll find that’s pretty common. This forum is a tiny subset of all people that buy Apple products but it’s probably the subset that are both the most passionate about Apple products and that are the most critical because they are the most clued up on what good should look like.

I suspect the issue is pretty common given the amount of people talking about it on here (and the multiple occurrences that those people have seen - eg 2 out of 2 BB leather cases had the issue) so I suspect lots of Amazon customers will also have similarly defective cases but the issue isn’t so prevalent and/or impactful that it’s showing in the reviews.

The Apple leather case for my iPhone 12 is fine and seems a tight fit. I’ve had zero issues with the corners popping off, although I’m not a fan of keeping my phone in my pants/trouser pockets.

Of course I might just be lucky. Maybe it’s only a problem with a few cases.

Got to be honest...I thought that all of you were simply nitpicking and looking for anything to take issue with. Unfortunately this corner popping thing is real.

Received my 12 Pro Max Black Leather from Amazon today and the amount of times I’ve swiped up and felt the bottom right corner pop back into place is absurd. This isn’t a pull it out of a pocket and because of the flex/tightness/movement it is loose kind of thing. Just sitting on a flat surface for an extended period is enough for that lower right corner to sneak it’s way out. Holding and using it in one hand with my pinky to balance the bottom is enough to cause it to start to unseat. Then you touch or press or swipe anywhere near that corner and you feel it depress and “snap” back in. It’s quite a bit more annoying than I could have anticipated.

The leather on mine looks fairly even without any real striation or variation to note. The overal feel and quality is certainly what I‘ve come to expect from these Apple leather cases - but that corner will drive me insane. Is the corner out enough that I think the entire phone is going to come out of the case...no. Is it unseated enough to feel the phone depress and snap back each and every time you touch it...yes. Definitely going to return this one and try again. I’ll update on Wednesday when #2 gets here.

^ Awesome description of the issue as I've experienced it with both BB leather cases.

I've given up (for now) and waiting for a (much cheaper) ESR metro leather case to try that out but I did really like the design/style/quality of the Apple case and they age well over time so I may well go back and try again if this corner issue goes away.

The fact that Apple keeps raising their prices and lowering their quality control (for software as well), we have every reason to be picky and critical. And lets not use the whole COVID excuse, this has been a trend for a few years now.

Sadly I think this trend will continue as Apple is now bribing their employees with tens of thousands in bonuses to travel to China lately during the pandemic to keep an eye on all their shenanigans inherent to doing business there.

I’ll tell you why I’m cutting Apple slack; because Amazon returns are so easy and convenient and Prime deliveries are amazing 😂 And they sell the cases cheaper. Yes I’ve had 5 of these cases. But it’s only taken 6 days.
Try living somewhere where things take two weeks to ship. It's also just not acceptable for customers to have to return a product several times to get what they should have got in the first place. The average customer is not going to do that.

Got my case Baltic Blue case on the 7th and got my 12 pro last Friday. Case is on tight with no corner issues.
