Need a new case for my iPhones 12 mini. Is the leather case better than silicon case?

I think the leather is much more durable but I think the silicone is much more grippy. So depends on what you are looking for. I think the leather is so much more elegant.

Is the 12 pro max the only one that has a leather case with a protruding protection ring? The rest look concave with no lip going out just in

Yes only the pro Max has the ring protruding. This is the side by side shot with the normal pro case

I want to get a saddle brown case for my 12 PM but it looks somewhat bright out of the box. Do you guys think it will get darker as previous cases did?

I’m asking because since the design now features sharper edges it will probably show an uneven wear unlike say a brown leather case for the 11 Pro and prior.

Ok thx. Looks likes it’s on my order list.
Yep, I’m digging the color and didn’t think I would. Also ordered a saddle brown but this is
I made the move from the 11 Pro Max to the 12 Pro this year. This reinforces that the decision was right for me. I love the Apple leather cases, but never imagined the 12 Pro Max wouldn’t be flat with the Apple leather case on it.
If folks don't like the bump there's plenty more cases to be had. I have several other branded cases (spigen, caudabe, smartish) and they have a bump.

Looked up some "Meyer Lemon iPhone Case Patina" pics from Google and they do not age that well vs the saddle brown. So torn. That California Poppy is just a beaut. I may just stick with the classic saddle brown though.
This has been my dilemma all week! This will be my first leather case and I love the Poppy brightness against pacific blue but also love how classic the saddle brown is especially with how nicely it will age. Most likely will go with saddle brown since the California poppy might age like “dirty orange” rather than a “worn brown leather”

Also check out these vids where she shows of each case inside/outside!

Just received my 12 saddle brown case from the apple store.

First thoughts, as soon as I took it out of the box it feels much thinner, almost plastic and fake compared to the saddle brown I had on my 11 pro and se2. It looks beautiful, but I’m not sure if this is even real leather and I still can’t seem to find where apple is sourcing this years leather from. My Nomad case feels like a brick compared to the apple leather case and is much softer as well. Time to let the patina (hopefully) begin.

Anyone have issues with their cases popping off the corners after a few days of use?
I have never used Apple leather cases but this year i got one for my iPhone 12. I have been using it for past few days and so far corners are not popping out. I take phone daily out of case to put in different case that use to mount on my bicycle (clear spigen case with blender attachment for my Trek FX5). Will have to see if it taking it out and putting back in cause phone popping out. I am hoping it will not because I really like it for regular daily use so far.

Pics of my saddle brown compared to the one used on my se2. The se2 saddle brown was gifted to a co-worker.

yep, that where mine comes off on, it’s getting annoying, the spigen case I was using never popped off and it only cost $13.

Is this just when removing the phone from your pockets or just handling it in general? I have used the leather cases for quite some time and generally they are snug enough this shouldn't be an issue. I guess not this version.

I have never had a Apple case corner pop off. They have always been very snug around the phone. I have 2 cases coming this week and the phone on Friday. I hope I am not disappointed. If it happens to me, I will consider going caseless.

I’ll be returning the saddle brown. It feels way to cheap this year and like someone else posted, it doesn’t smell like leather at all. Also, it pops off at the corners as mentioned. I went back to my Nomad.

I actually like the leather quality on this years case but the corner popping issue was a dealbreaker for me using it as a daily driver case. Back to my Mous leather case lol.

My poppy is going back. Mine pops out in one corner. It's almost as if this version doesn't snap into place on the phone but just kind of slides into place. Definitely a looser fit overall than pervious generations. It's weird because 3 corners, you can feel it kind of snap into place but the top left corner just doesn't. It just slides in and out.
