I’ve received the Black, Blue and Poppy leather cases today. I think I’m going for the California Poppy one. But the blue case has some rare marks/scratches on it. I would expect that over time this can happen, but not directly when taking out of the box. (It’s difficult to see on the picture, but irl is really clear)

That's natural leather for you. Some people LOVE to have those little imperfections. They age rather nicely.

The reviewer likes the silicon case over the leather case. Because of the new texture that Apple is using...easily slides in/out of pocket and doesn't collect dust like a regular cheap silicon case. Interesting!

I also disagree. Had the silicon for a week. Total finger print and lint magnet. Hard to get in and out of pocket. Leather is way better imho.

I have silicone and leather and greatly prefer the leather. The silicon is a fingerprint magnet and still gets stuck going into my pocket. It's also slightly bulkier. I also love the little lines in some of the leather cases. This is 100% normal on a leather product and really adds a nice touch in my opinion. Some people love it and others hate it.

I have had the leather cases for multiple iPhones. I don’t see why people are saying the quality is much lower this year. I don’t see that at all. Mine smells very much like leather and feels just as soft as others (maybe even slightly softer). It also has perfect grip right away, which didn’t use to be the case.

If you put some weight in them by putting your old phone in, how does the grip compare between the two. Can you hold either one at a 45 degree angle, just with 4 fingers on the back and no thumb use or pinky underneath, without them sliding off?

My Poppy color has a couple of the "streaks" but I think its just the leather imperfections which is natural.

While shaped differently, the Iphone 12 leather case is essentially the same thickness and weight as the iphone 11 case, as far as I can see. Definitely smells like leather.

Mine has several lines as well. The replacement wait was for 1 month so I decided to keep mine. I am hearing nice things about it ageing well with time but will see. Came across a thread on reddit as well. Here

Just received my Baltic Blue leather case for iPhone 12 White.

Easy to put on, leather feels nice, buttons are very responsive. There are lines in the leather when the light hits it at a certain angle, but it looks good imo. Leather feels thin, but I like that the case is thin so can't complain.

Only worry is there in basically no lip on the front of the phone. You can clearly see the aluminum band on my white phone. I'll have to see if it pops off or not in the next few days.

I'd like to see a drop test if the phone falls on the screen. Feels like it could slide out since there's no lip.

Same here. Silicone was smudgey and didn’t feel at all premium or worthy of its price.

Just had my California poppy delivered. Attached a few pics to show the colour against a yellow chick with orange feet, orange juice, the size compared to an XS Max and also the leather “non perfect” fitting round the camera bump/frame just incase people needed more pics to help decide

Little off topic but after two weeks with the plum silicone case I find it to be better than past ones too. Not sure how it’ll wear over time but in the past the silicone cases quickly lost their smoothness and showed a sticky shiny rubber underneath the matte finish.

this year seems to be a little better with the silicone. Been only two weeks but mine looks like new still and I too am wondering if I’ll stick with the silicone this time and wait to get a leather one on sale later since it’s a much nicer feel thus far

Received a California poppy leather just now. It looks pretty good. The cutout around the camera hole has that slight gap, it doesn’t necessarily look bad but the one I got has no gap near the top and gap all around the rest of the camera so it looks off. The buttons feel amazing.

The biggest issue is that it does not hold the phone in well at all. I am 100% certain that a drop on the face of the phone will destroy the phone as it pops out so easily. To test this I dropped the phone on it’s face from a height of one inch on to a hard mouse on. Sure enough, the phone popped out and the screen struck the mouse pad.

My silicon case had a simile issue, but the leather one is much much worse. Any drop is going to dislodge the phone from the case. Will probably try to get another one to see if i can get one that holds my phone in and doesn’t have the uneven gap around the camera.
