Probably just luck of the draw. My Baltic Blue doesn't do the same thing.
Man glad i saw this, was going to get my daughter to get me a black in Sydney today. Not taking the punt for $89AUD lol.

The black would be slick looking. I’d just be worried about the corners popping out like on the saddle brown I have. And the price is getting up there.
My product red case doesn't pop out, my phone is really snug in there.
I’m thinking this is also why Dave over at Saddleback hasn’t released a case for the 12. He may be having problems with the edges of the 12 and his cases staying on.
No issues with my leather case popping off at all. Very snug and solid.

I just checked my wife’s silicone and asked her if she’s noticed it popping off. Sure enough it did it for her over the weekend. I can definitely tell a difference between how easily it pops off the bottom corners, as opposed to the top. Called Apple and they are letting me return it even though it was ordered over three weeks ago. I just ordered a leather and a silicone replacement to see which she likes best.
The reviewer likes the silicon case over the leather case. Because of the new texture that Apple is using...easily slides in/out of pocket and doesn't collect dust like a regular cheap silicon case. Interesting!
Totally disagree with this. I’ve been using a silicone case on my 12 pro for last week and I hate it. It is very grippy putting it in and out of pockets. Can‘t wait for leather case to arrive in next day or two. I loved the leather case on my iPhone X and 11 Pro.
The silicone does feel pretty good. I'll wait til I get the leather case before I pass judgement.
I've heard that the silicone cases are lint magnets more than ever!
The thing is with these reviews, they're straight out the box. After a few days use, the out the box feeling wears and they become really sticky
Returned my silicone case, ordered a black leather. The fit and feel is amazing. The silicone felt like it wasn’t really gripping the 12 pro, the leather is tight as a MOFO. Feels slightly slimmer too.

That’s absolutely not my experience with the new silicone case. It’s more of a smudge and lint magnet than ever before.
Got the baltic blue case for the Mini today.
The color looks different than i thought.. seems to have (even) more green in it, than i expected from pictures/videos.
But what i don't like about it, is how much bulk it will add to the device.
The Mini has a width of 64,2 mm and the case seems to be almost 68mm.
Since i always used my X naked, the case almost feels like it is the same size...
Will have to see how it feels with the Mini when it finally arrives.
But my first impression is not very good.

I’ve received the Black, Blue and Poppy leather cases today. I think I’m going for the California Poppy one. But the blue case has some rare marks/scratches on it. I would expect that over time this can happen, but not directly when taking out of the box. (It’s difficult to see on the picture, but irl is really clear)
Just got the black leather case for the iPhone 12 and i'll be sending it back immediately. The new texture feels like very cheap plastic. The leather layer must be super thin this time. For the iPhone XS the leather case was my favourite by far, the soft leather felt so nice. But this time even the clear case feels more premium. Too bad.
Seems like the leather this go around is either a hate it or love it type of situation. Mine are coming today but over the years have never had any issues with this case. Seems from the various posts the quality went down big time this year which is irritating as this has always been my go to case.
If you put some weight in them by putting your old phone in, how does the grip compare between the two. Can you hold either one at a 45 degree angle, just with 4 fingers on the back and no thumb use or pinky underneath, without them sliding off?
