I hope they won’t stop delivering a Mini model. I decided that my next one will be a Mini, the perfect size and a pleasure to handle. I can’t say the same about the iPhone Pro (plus case), which I find too big for my hands and my busy lifestyle where sometimes I need to quickly answer or send emails with one hand.

I got the 12 because of the bigger battery, I had concerns about the mini’s battery life. I regret it though. I always felt the XS I had prior felt to big. I have always had bigger phones, I just don’t care to have a big phone anymore. Prior to the XS, I had a 7 plus a Nexus 6P, Nexus 6 (whale of a phone) and if they offer a 13 mini I’ll be trading in my 12 for it otherwise I’ll be holding onto this longer

Like manual transmissions in cars.
This is one of the most annoying things about car enthusiasts. They’ll complain online ad nauseam about how cars don’t have manuals, and then when an automaker makes one, they loudly refuse to buy it because it either doesn’t have 500hp and cost less than $25k, or it’s a bargain basement trim level econobox and they don’t want that. They ignored the fact that auto manufacturing isn’t a charity, and they weren’t buying high trim level models they purportedly wanted with manuals in enough numbers to justify their production either. Automakers start dropping those manuals and they get all upset about it, but the so-called enthusiasts only have themselves to blame, IMO. And I say this as an auto enthusiast, but I actually put my money where my mouth is; four of the last five cars I’ve owned have had a manual transmission. You pay to play.

I feel like the technology sector is no different. “The mini is too expensive. It should have all the features of the 12 line but be the price of the SE.” Yeah, ok, whatever. You knew that wasn’t going to happen. And if the 13 mini sells even worse, even more likely that Apple will kill it off. But it won’t stop people who had no intention of buying it from complaining about it.

I love my iPhone 12 mini. It's the perfect size. Apple really delivered with this model. It works flawlessly and always brings me back to my iPhone 4. I'll be holding on to this thing for as long as possible, just like my 2017 MacBook 12". Ideal sizes for both devices. Although I will say things would be a lot easier for me if I didn't always gravitate towards the smallest device possible.

I did buy an iPhone mini but I then ended up buying a Pro because I missed the telephoto lens. I know other people who would have bought it if it matched the camera specs of the Pro models. It's a shame because it feels like the perfect size. I still have my mini and I used it as a work phone separate from my personal Pro.

I'm still holding on to my launch day 7. Was going to get the 12 Mini but with it starting at $730, average battery life, and no Touch ID it just wasn't exciting for me, a person who wants smaller phones. I'm definitely picking up a 13 Mini now knowing that there won't be a smaller 14 iPhone though.

Screen is too small.

5.4inch with a 19.5:9 ratio make for a very narrow screen. At least by modern standards. That's even narrower than the iPhone 6.

Only thing that stopped me from pulling the trigger. And I suspect, others.
Exactly the same width that iPhone 6, 7 and 8
For me the perfect size would’ve been 5.8” (just like the X, XS and 11 pro) with the new flat borders... But I am getting that upcoming 13 mini because I am happy with the width of my iPhone 8.

Following widespread reports that the iPhone 12 mini has experienced poor sales performance, at least relative to other iPhone 12 models, Taiwanese research firm TrendForce today claimed that production of the device has already ended.

According to TrendForce, the iPhone 12 mini "reached End-of-Life ahead of time" during the second quarter of 2021, suggesting that Apple will focus on selling through its existing inventory of the device without producing any further units. Launched in October 2020, the iPhone 12 mini features a 5.4-inch display that caters to fans of smaller smartphones, with pricing starting at $699 in the United States.

While production has reportedly ceased, the iPhone 12 mini remains available on Apple.com without any notable shipping delays for now. The device is offered in six colors, including a purple option that went on sale in late April.

Apple is still expected to unveil an iPhone 13 mini later this year, but rumors suggest the 5.4-inch model will be discontinued in 2022.

Seriously though what possessed Apple to think that anyone outside of a very small number of iPhone enthusiast wanted a smaller for small number of iPhone enthusiast wanted a smaller phone. It was a horrible idea similar to that plastic backed iPhone they produced for a few months. No one can be surprised that the mini failed miserably

The small size iPhone just has no market anymore! Pleople seem to want the biggest smartphone size now!

I am 6ft2 and seriously considering the iPhone 13 mini from my 12 pro. The 12 pro is just too heavy and unwieldy, seems like they didn't really use it when they made it. I also have an SE 2020 and a Pixel 4a and it's such a joy to hold those after a while with the 12 pro.

I just hope they can improve the battery life on the 13 mini, as I would hate to give that up. 3 things that would make the mini sell in droves (I think):
- Reduce price
- Put all 3 cameras in it
- Increase battery
LoL is all I got.... "too heavy and unwieldy"... LoL.... oh man... great stuff.

Seems like you want a magic phone that's tiny, has all the features as the big phones and has awesome battery life.... well you can probably pick 2 of those but all 3 just isn't going to happen.

Iphone 12 mini

Seven.Hundred.Dollars.

Forget quality, that price is nuts. Aka, swing and a HUUUUUUUUGGGEEEEEE miss. Get that outta here. Sounds like a fail and it was.

I believe that most people (that prize the Apple ecosystem) buy the SE for it's price, not its size.

The mini seems expensive and not a good value for the masses.

There's a reason why most Android phones are huge.

That's what MOST people want: The biggest screen they can fit in their pocket, with the best battery life, for the best price possible.

The 12 is the in-between sweet-spot, with the SE going to the primarily-price-focused customers, and the Pro Max going to the screen-size and/or battery-life focused customers.

Sadly for some of y'all, the mini wins at NONE of these masses-oriented categories.

Its niche is simply too small for Apple to give a damn about it, so the experiment is over, unless it becomes the new SE going forward.

People just ignorant of the reality of both physics and pricing.
