I am so confused - why do so may people order the Pro Max? It’s too big for single handed text entry, and it’s as heavy as an iPad mini! (Especially these year’s models which are the heaviest on record?) Aren’t the 13 Pro and Pro Max same in every way except size / weight / bloat?

The night before pre-order, on my iPhone in bed,
Do I get the Pro Max, or the Pro instead?
The pre-order is set, I can now go to sleep,
But what of my 12, should I sell it or keep?

The day is here! I'm ready to order!
The app or website, which wait will be shorter?
Refreshing like mad, there's no time to waste,
The page finally loads, my order is placed!

Now to Mac Rumors, to share how I fared,
Only to find the prepared have despaired.
"The iPhone Upgrade Program has let me down!"
I'll try my luck at the Apple Store in town."

Next week on Wednesday the reviewers will drop,
Thoughts on the iPhone, a win or a flop?
What about colors? My choice I rethink.
Don't ask Justine; she always says pink.

Now a week later, the wait I can't stand,
I have a Pro Max right here in my hand.
The excitement wanes quickly, for now that I squint,
What the hell? Is that a green tint?

Back to MacRumors, "Is it only me?"
It's definitely there, we all can agree.
Maybe they'll fix it with a point one update.
"Is it software or hardware?" will be the debate.

This week is my favorite that's not holiday,
The kid in me can come out to play.
Few understand this, and yet we are proud,
The nerds, the geeks, the Mac Rumors crowd.

To each their own I guess, i have the 12 pro max and when I read it's lighter than the 13 pro max i just decided against it and went for pro but I'm still concerned about the screen size :(it would be a big downgrade

Same here - couldn't get the Apple card to work. I have to wonder if you have set up a pre-order in the Apple Store APP (on iPad in my case), this issue happens. I just talked with Goldman Sachs (Apple Card support, since they are the bank that issues the card) and they say they are working with Apple to resolve the issue, so it is not just me.

[I have to wonder if it has to do with setting up the pre-order in the Apple Store APP (on the iPad in my case), and some kind of automatic change in the three digit security code.]
I also got the same response when I spoke with Goldman Sachs customer support. They said that everyone was trying to place their orders at the same time. Well, yeah, that's what you do at a major product launch. Just seems like they should have beefed up their infrastructure for such an event.

Wait until your eyes get old, like mine.

They're the same except for screen size and slightly better battery life on the Max because of the bigger battery. I like the larger "phablet" screen size though, already used to the form factor on my 6s Plus and it's a big reason my iPad is used almost never. Just hope the weight increase won't be super noticeable.

I have always bought the plus, and max models. I am going from an XS Max now so I figured the Pro was the equivalent. The weight really does not bother me and I am sure to texting on this phone. I might end up backing down to the regular Pro in a couple of years if I do not like it.

Finally got through after about an hour of three different credit cards not working, then Citizens One rejecting. Insanely frustrating to have pre-prepared for the preorder only to have it fail repeatedly. I also have to do store pickup instead of having it delivered since that slipped. Mostly I just wish I had that hour back.

anything smaller seems unusable to me. you get used to the max in about 10 minutes and then it seems like a regular size iphone.

Ordered a Max 256 within a minute after the shop opened, they have collected the money and sent me a confirmation, but still waiting for the order to appear in the shop. Should be delivered next Friday. 🤞

After an hour of trying and missing the release day delivery slot and having to move to release day pickup. I ended up using my Amex instead of my apple card - which I very much did not want to do - and it went through right away.

This was really irritating and should have been handled better by GS and Apple.

That is the great thing about having options in sizes, something for everyone. I am used to the larger iPhones and I prefer the larger screen.

The good: I got my order in for an iPhone 13 Pro 1TB in Graphite.

The bad: Everything else. I got the confirmation from Apple days ago that:

You’re all set for pre-order on 9.17

Nope. When I followed the instructions there was no phone associated with my account…

So I just started from scratch .

Your bag is empty. ha

same here. Didn't work at all. just started over with my "favorites" saved item.

After the iPhone 4 I got the iPhone 6s which was way too big, later I got the iPhone 8 because i dropped the 6s. I still have the 8 and think it's way too big and uncomfortable to use. Now I ordered the 13 mini, at least the outer measurements are a little bit smaller. I would love an iPhone nano.

Same here... it wouldn't take my order until I chose a card other than my Apple Card saying there was a "problem" with my card.

What's weird is I had to use the app to even get this far; using Safari from a Mac just gave a brief spinning graphic and returned me to the same order page with no error message.

Worse yet, my order is now "on hold" pending verification from Citizens One for the upgrade program.

I got through to Citizens One after being on hold about an hour and they said the loan verification system isn't speaking to Apple's systems and they don't know which end the problem is on but when the issue is fixed the orders should just be released.

The thing that ticks me off is I had a September date on my Mac order that… did nothing, and my on-hold order had an October date, and now my delivery date will be "update" when the hold is released.

Just a royal cluster.

I can see that for some uses and certainly pocket ability, but I'm willing to put up with the bulk for the better UI experience. When I pick up a normal iphone size it feels like a toy.

I can palm a basketball pretty easily so I like a big phone for my mitts
